The 10 Best Playgrounds in New Jersey, United States

November 15, 2021 Concepcion Newsome

Whether you are looking for sun-drenched beaches or outdoor activities in beautiful countryside, New Jersey has plenty to offer. Those who love the great outdoors should head for the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which runs along the Delaware River for forty miles. Here you can go rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking or fishing, or simply admire the stunning waterfalls. There is a huge range of hiking trails to choose from as well as historic sites to visit. In winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing near Blue Mountain Lakes, and birdwatchers might be lucky enough to catch sight of bald eagles. If you are looking for a change, visit one of New Jersey's eleven lighthouses that are open to public, such as the one in Cape May. For art and history enthusiasts, New Jersey State Museum in Trenton has historic artifacts and American fine art from the nineteenth century to the present day as well as a Planetarium.

Brookdale Park

Reviewed By Yuting_13 - Nanuet, United States

This park does not have ducks and geese, so the grass is clean. Plus, many huge trees provide a lot shade. The rose garden is small but beautiful. Unleashed dogs are limited in a dogs park in the Brookdale park. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy sunny weekends with kids, this definitely is a perfect park. I personally recommend the grass near the rose garden.

Roosevelt Park

Reviewed By T6885QQlindak - Fords, United States

Roosevelt Park is a welcome oasis in a busy section of town. It is close to Target, Menlo Park Mall, JFK Medical Center and many more businesses, However, when in the Park it is serene and full of possibilities. Within the Park there is a school for special needs children that allows the opportunity for the public to use the ice skating rink in the winter. There are streams that run throughout the Park where you can explore for small "wild life". There is also a large pond for fishing , jogging or walking around or just quietly sitting around reading or people watching. You can have a picnic or cookout. There is a covered area for shade or protection from rain is available. You can walk, jog or ride your bicycle around the many paths and during the summer, enjoy a "Play in the Park". Basketball and tennis courts are also ready for your use. Roosevelt Park is well maintained and easy to get to. I have been going there since I was a child, then our children and now our grandchildren continue to enjoy it.
