Ashiq Aswar is a superb tour guide! Him and Rizni took my family around on a tour of Colombo that included shopping and then a tour of the outskirts of a bee farm, spice gardens a private tour visiting and riding elephants. We had a great lunch in a clean and air-conditioned restaurant. The van was clean and comfortable. They picked us up and dropped us back. This trip was actually in the early part of last year in spring, but the calendar on Trip Advisor only goes back to summer of last year. They were very attentive, very caring and personable. I would highly recommend Ashiq and Kingfisher tours to anyone visiting Colombo, Sri Lanka ????????

We went to Sri Lanka for some culture after the Maldives. My beautiful wife's grandparents are originally from Jaffna, so that's where we headed to first. After a night in a newly constructed ancient hotel (yep!) in Anuradhapura (the hotel was actually quite good, colonial style bungalows in manicured grounds) we got to Jaffna. An interesting place and not touristy at all, yet. We then headed to Sigriya, as we'd both been up Sigriya rock previously our guide took us up a rock opposite. The stunning wife then metamorphosed into a hot, sweaty and cussing demon for the 40 minute ascent. Once summited calm and beauty were restored. We then headed back to Colombo for the last two nights, my wonderful wife treating me to two nights in the Galle Face hotel. There's a tiny beach and strip of land outside that seems to be the meeting point for all the locals, not full of tourist trap bars or restaurants, just locals living there life. This for me was beautiful, seeing them with three or four generations in the family just enjoying a walk, sit or local food stall and watching the sunset. This isn't going to last though, as all the big hotel chains are building on the opposite side of the road, it won't be long before the big chains then buy the strip of land for bars etc and push the locals of. During the trip our guide, Indika was invaluable and always on time. His car was always spotless, he was there whenever we needed him, and helped manhandle me and the beautiful up the rock in Sigriya. The man deserves 5/5 for that at least! A great trip with an outstanding driver.

Can’t recommend Lux Tours and Laxman enough. Laxman is awesome, free pick up from the train station to our hotel. The next day we got picked up for our day trip to Sigiriya Rock and the temples. Amazing!! Laxman and his driver Priente? made our trip as enjoyable and comfortable possible going above and beyond to find rest rooms, restaurants and coffee haha. To top things off Laxman organised our train tickets for the next day for no extra charge. A friendly and reliable company that ensure a good time. I used them in August 2019 and quite happy with their service. Van driver cum tour guide Danushka was friendly. The price quoted was fair after comparing with 2 other companies. Complicated tour since have to travel deep through the forest for 3-4 hours. Necessary things will be provided to get rid of leeches and to be safe from them. Please bring the required equipment to take photographs. Will be able to visit Kakunalla falls ,If you wish to bath in the stream flows in the forest you must bring extra clothes with you. Beautiful forest with so much to explore. Guide had great communication ahead of tour. Met me at the bus station and drove us straight to the forest. Friendly and knowledgeable about the forest itself and local history. Special interest in birds if that is something you're keen on. He helped me spot all kinds of wildlife and vegetation. We also had a lovely homemade lunch and swim next to the river, and then relaxed and watched a family of rare birds frolic around us. One of my most memorable afternoons on my trip to Sri Lanka.
