After some 4,000 miles (6,400 km) of hard use, our British e-bikes were ready for some repairs and a major service. Fortunately we found Finibikes, right where we were staying in the small fishing port of Finikounda in the far southwest of the Peloponnese. Owners Nikos and Julie are ardent, committed and expert in all aspects of cycling, as well as operating as a tourist office for cyclists and, if required, guides. They sell, build, hire, service and repair every kind of bicycle for every kind of cyclist. Nikos is a highly skilled and knowledgeable mechanic, equipped to handle any problem from a puncture to servicing our hydraulic disk brakes, computer-controlled electric motor and electronically-shifted hub gears. A wheel that wobbled after earlier emergency replacement of a broken spoke, disk brake pads almost worn down to the metal, misaligned hub gears and air-filled hydraulic brake fluid were soon corrected. Equally impressive, with his laptop Nikos updated firmware and performed error checks on our bicycles’ Shimano computers

Romanos Beach

Reviewed By 343henryt - Hampstead Norreys, United Kingdom

This is a wonderful beach, with clean sand, nice waves when there's wind, a light undertoe and a variety of different swimming niches, some perfect for underwater viewing (lots of local fish varieties) and diving and some for just chilling. The taverna and bar, both of which are continually changing their names. provide good food, cappuccino freddo's and beer on tap just when you need them, plus there are some shady spots reaching all the way down to the shore.

Voidokilia Beach

Reviewed By LindaWNottm - Nottingham, United Kingdom

We hired bicycles at a very reasonable cost from Martin's on the main Street through Gialova (which is open 24hrs) then headed off along the beach road and across the lagoon toVoidakilia Beach (saw flamingoes and herons on the way) then parked up on the beach for a couple of hours on the beach. You need to bring everything with you -a parasol for shade and food and drink. The bay is beautiful fine sand sloping very gently down - you can be a fair way out before you are out if your depth. Water was clear, fishes swimming everywhere. We went early but by lunchtime it was busy and we cycled back. We loved it.

The beach is clean safe with no noticed currents or hazards. The area has multiple restaurants, tavernas and small hotels. There is a small functional super market, shade from restaurant parasols for price of a drink or two. There is snorkeling , large inflatable fun for kids 5€ a hour, great place, worth visit(s).

Petrochori Beach

Petroxori beach or Karfa is a beautiful place ideal for kids and older ages. Separated in two pieces, in the one part has free sunbeds and umbrellas and in the other part nothing. Also there are two taverns and a beach bar

Reviewed By 1bar2far - London, United Kingdom

We enjoyed Petrochori beach, which we could walk to directly from the Ammothines restaurant. It is a nice cove, sandy floor, with rocks on the side and further out if you want to snorkel for a bit of interest. Would happily go back.
