Aoraki/Mt. Cook

Reviewed By BradJill - Hong Kong, China

Mount Cook also referred locally by its Maori name of Aoraki is the highest mountain in New Zealand and the darling of the Southern Alps range on South Island. It dominates the peaks of the Mount Cook National Park and can be viewed well from both sides of the mountain range. We recently spent some time around Mount Cook National Park enjoying views of Aoraki from numerous hiking areas and trails. Most enjoyable was probably at Lake Hooker, a beautiful reflection lake made up of melt water from Hooker Glacier located a short distance from the Mount Cook Village. A similar impressive view of Mount Cook can be found at Lake Matheson, another famous reflection lake near the Fox Glacier Village on the west side of the range. There is a very good Visitor Centre in the Mount Cook Village with quality displays and historic accounts of mountaineering and general exploration of Mount Cook and fellow peaks in the area. You can also learn quite a bit about hiking and other activities related to visits to Mount Cook on the DOC National Park website. This is well worth spending some time researching before making trips to the area.

We had the best weekend ever thanks to Suzi and Tony! That's the best and most exceptional experience we could get for a special date! I organised a 30th surprise birthday for my partner who LOVES llamas. Suzi was here to provide her recommendations - which was perfect for our needs. We had an amazing weekend with a Llama day trek/walk on the Saturday and a Llama fishing trip on Sunday! We also had great surprises on top which included cheese and wine for my partner. If you want to have a delightful and unique experience don't hesitate any longer and get in touch with this beautiful couple! Thank you so much - we'll be back!

Had a great time, 4 of us, Peter the guide was good and had attached balloons to the quad for one of our party’s birthday as I had let them know, thank you for doing that. Lots of wet weather gear to use, helpful ladies in the shop, able to use the Entertainment Book voucher which was great. About a 25km ride, lots of ups and downs, enjoyed it, thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the kennel tour experience. Nigel and Rose were extremely friendly and very informative. This is definitely an experience you wont want to miss out on, and is so much more than just getting to see and pet the dogs, we left with a real appreciation for the work these dogs do, and the work that has gone into training them. We drove from Queenstown to visit and definitely think it was worth the journey!

Went out with a couple of friends to give driving a go. First we did two laps with the instructor Chris driving. I was like oh god this is going to be impossible. Then it was my turn to drive Chris was giving instructions as I was driving and it made things very easy. You get to drive a V8 super car and get to do it fast and learn how to drive and corner correctly. Definitely recommend doing this I will be going back again.

Wild Earth Adventures

Reviewed By G387UXpeterh - Newcastle, Australia

During a cruise ship stop at Dunedin we selected to try Sea Kayaking for the first time. We were greeted at the wharf by Simon our tour leader. A small group of us were then driven around to the other side of the harbour. We reached a small beach near the peninsula and our tour guides unloaded the kayaks. We were giving a brief safety instruction, fitted with life jackets and then shown the correct way to paddle the kayaks. We entered the water and started a great experience of paddling around the headland spotting sun baking seals and many types of sea birds. This was my first time in a kayak and it was stable and easy to manoeuvre. We handled small swell with ease and it wasn’t too strenuous at all. On our return we were treated to coffee, tea, cookies and cake. My wife and I had a truly marvellous experience with Wild Earth Adventures. It was an experience that we’ll never forget...10/10. We can thoroughly recommend their Sea Kayaking tours.
