World class trout fishing, Lees Ferry, Arizona Guide Mike Roth invites you to join him for trout fishing on the crystal clear waters of the Colorado River some fly fishing & Spin-fishing trips for ALL ages / Groups Large & Small / Corporate Trips Available.

I took my wife on a trip to Lee's Ferry to fish and Kayak on 9/19-20. It was her first time trout fishing and Mike (Papa) Roth made it a trip to remember. Between all the history of the area that he relayed and his intimate knowledge of where and how to catch trout on this gorgeous strip of river, she was captivated. It did not hurt that with his guidance she caught 6 nice Rainbows on the first day (as did I). The second day he dropped us and our kayaks off upriver and by using what we learned the day before, she caught another 3 (including a 16 inch beauty) and I caught another 5. Mike can be counted on to provide a top quality, full service trip. My wife and I will be back a couple of times a year from here on out and will NOT use anyone but Mike.

Getting here is half the fun. You can get here on a long drive on unpaved roads requiring a high clearance 4wd vehicle. But once you get there it makes you feel as if you’ve landed on another planet. You’ll wander around marveling at the strange, unique formations that are unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Bar 10 Ranch Activities

What a fun experience! Beautiful grounds, fun activities, and a great opportunity to spend family time unplugged. The staff at Bar 10 are all extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They took very good care of us the entire four days of our stay. Most use this as a day trip/hub for rafting. We had just driven Rt. 66, and visited a few days at Zion National Park, we wanted some "downtime." We booked four days so we could experience the ranch and all it had to offer. Grand Canyon activities we enjoyed were a private helicopter ride to the base of the Grand Canyon, (where we explored for over an hour and dipped our feet in the Colorado River,) in addition to a half day trip where we rode the SxS to see the inner gorge of the canyon in a small group of six. Every day as we arrived back from a day trip, the staff prepared a great home-cooked meal for us. We also ate their delicious grass-fed beef raised from their cattle ranch, which you can buy and have it shipped.) There was a heat wave while we were there and they had plenty of water/lemonade/Gatoraid available at all times, They even packed coolers with drinks and lunches for our day trips, and constantly reminded everyone to drink plenty of water. Other fun ranch activities we enjoyed were daily horseback riding, skeet shooting, and hiking around the area to the top of a nearby mountain for a beautiful view! We saw plenty of deer on this trip too. Other hikes included a visit to see the petroglyphs and cliff dwellings of the Anazi Indians, and a small ATV ride/hike to see an old camp. Highlighting this was watching sunset by the canyon! The colors on the walls of the canyon were beautiful! When we weren't on a day trip, we enjoyed the peaceful quietness of the ranch- playing pool, visiting the horses, relaxing under the trees, and enjoying a campfire w/smores and stories at night. We chose to stay in a covered wagon, which was very cool! We enjoyed it as much as our two young children! Even though we were there during a heatwave, the nights cooled off and we slept great in the wagon. We spent 4th of July at the ranch, and the staff put on a great talent show for everyone. Afterwards, they put on a fireworks show and had sparklers for the kids. Bar-10 offer such fun, adventurous activities in a country setting along the Arizona Strip. We enjoyed every aspect of our trip, and will definitely be going back and recommend this ranch to others.

The Highlands Center for Natural History is an educational non-profit located on a special use permit from the Prescott National Forest. It offers camps for kids from age 4 to 8th grade, excellent programs for adults (i.e. Community Nature Series on a variety of topics), nature and bird walks. The Discovery Garden offers a walk through the different types of areas found in Yavapai county. It has pavered walkways making it handicapped and stroller accessible. In addition it has a"natural" play ground. Kids can climb on rocks, play with shells and pinecones, climb on the "spider web". It comes complete with a picnic table. Also located on the site are "regular" hiking trails, of varying length and strenuousness. One Forest Service Trail comes through the property and connects to Lynx Lake. The center also has a nature store with a variety of books, cards, shirts, and jewelry for sale. There is no admission or parking fee. I liked it so much that I became a regular volunteer here.
