After a hectic period with the Covid pandemic, a small escape whilst remaining safe has been welcomed coming to Alvor. Sports cafe were very welcoming whilst adhering to social distancing, quick table service and lively atmosphere made sure we had a great time.

Yet again, Hickeys has lived up to its reputation for great reasonably priced drink, great craic and entertainment as provided by the clientele in the great pub that Pat and Dave and the other boys run. Year after year, time after time, night after night it gives you what you want from a holiday! A nice place to meet new people, old friends, have a bit of banter and sing a few songs and be well looked after by Pat and the lads. And it’s the go to bar for watching sport, particularly GAA. At this stage it’s like a friends reunion no matter what week of the year you go back to Hickeys. As Pat says every week is like having old friends come to visit, with new friendships being made, and all this goes to make Hickeys very special. Be prepared for late nights!!! Don’t be afraid to start or join in the sing song, everyone joins in!!! If the RiRa Agus Ruaile Buaile isint for you then there’s the quite upstairs terrace to relax on. This is an easy review as we have been going to the Cocktail Garden for a few years now. Luis and Catia are the perfect hosts and the games, puzzles and quiz night are an added bonus. I cannot think of enough compliments for how good this bar is, just go there and try it.

Terrific little bar, just up from the pretty harbour in Alvor. Very friendly Irish lady behind the bar. Very quirky decor which we loved. Excellent service, very reasonably priced. A hidden gem. COVID 19 precautions executed to perfection, wiping of tables / spraying of seats etc.

Best bar in Algarve. Well done to Miranda & Luis in looking after their customers to very high standards. We are regulars have Guinness, Coods Lite & other beers on draught. Have 10 tv screens, you can watch different sports at one time - ask Luis & he will support. We have watched many 6 nations game in the bar, flags outside, in particular Wales "Cymru am byth" . Although they need a Llanfair PG flag????

The atmoshphere is incredible along with the music! If you like the feel of an island bar with great reggae, ska, rcoksteady and Cuban music, this is a place to go. We only had beers but the owner was making a shareable bowl of a type of sangria and it looked incredible!! I wish we had been there a week earlier as the Covid-19 outbreak had kept almost everyone hunkered down in their homes. This is a MUST visit destination if you are in or around Faro. I'll be back!! Thanks to the owner, Fabio, for great service and hospitality & thanks for allowing me to pick out some music!

Sports and Snack Bar with a Cocktail Decking overlooking the harbour! Tasty food, ice cold beer, great selection of drinks, the best cocktails (sunset special 2 for 1 between 6pm and 8pm), pool table, all live sports and the best team of staff in town! A must try if in the marina!

Best little bar in the marina. We found it early on our holiday and started each evening there (and often finished there too). Two for one cocktails between 6 and 8pm extremely good value. Two Aperol Spritz for 7 euros for example. Serve a really decent burger. Very welcoming staff. Well done guys. Keep it up and see you next time.
