Val Gardena

The beautiful breathtaking scenery, the endless slopes ( one La Longia 10.5 km long) and the lovely town makes this place the Mecca for ski lovers. No matter how many times you will be there , just the thought of it makes your body crave with expectation. If I will ever know that there is only one ski vacation left in my life- Val Gardena will be the place.

Insights into exotic Mediterranean landscapes and views of the surrounding mountain chains and sun-kissed Merano: The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle comprises eighty natural and cultivated landscapes nestled into a natural amphitheatre, a wide array of themed gardens, and numerous Artist Pavilions and Experience Stations. Visitors find the extraordinary combination of nature, culture and art at South Tyrol's most popular attraction absolutely enchanting. The interplay of historical and contemporary architecture, a rich variety of events, and seasonal blooming throughout the course of the year all make Trauttmansdorff an experience for all five senses and for visitors of all ages. Wonderful gardens in the extensive grounds of Trauttmansdorff Castle. The walks in the different areas are well signposted to ensure you miss nothing. There is a Restaurant and Cafe on site whilst the Castle itself hosts an interesting exhibition about tourism ion the Dolomites.

After several years we finally attempted it and did it! Great day of skiing 25 miles. Watch out for the “alternative” route though which involves Black runs!

Starting at the FischleinTal parking lot in Sesto, hike up to the Dolomiten Hohenweg #5 trail connecting the Czigmond, Bullelejoch and Drei Zinnen mountain huts for some of the most spectacular mountain hiking I've ever experienced. This loop trail is an 18km, 3200ft elevation change, all-day hike. The best spot for lunch is Bullelejoch, the least crowded of the 3 mountain huts, and also the best food.
