The forests of the Nature Park Papuk, especially the old ones, support the nationally important populations of endangered bird sorts. Because of the various reliefs, geologic and microclimatic conditions, but also because of the variety of the grounds in the Nature Park Papuk, we find even 10 sorts of forest Djedovica3communities, covering about 96% of the area. One of the most beautiful hill valleys located on the northern part of Papuk, on the elevation of 475 meters. It's rich with cold sources of water and clear rivers, surrounded by the hundred year old beech forest. Because of its exceptional natural beauties, Jankovac was proclaimed a protected Forest Park in 1955. A long tradition of hiking along the Slavonian mountains has been related to this area, the first hiking home being built back in 1934.

The Nature Park Papuk covers the largest part of the mountain Papuk, and partially of Krndija in the general direction northwest – southeast. It covers an area of 336 km2 (33 600 ha), and is administrative situated on the area of two counties, the Pozesko-slavonska and the Viroviticko-podravska. The area of the Nature Park represents geological the most various area on this part of the Republic of Croatia. Following the European and World initiatives about the protection of valuable geological inheritance, associations like the European Geoparks Network (EGN) and the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) were founded. The Nature Park Papuk became member of these mentioned associations in 2007, as first geological Park from Croatia.

Vukovarska Ada, a sandy island on the Danube, is a favorite place for excursions and bathing resort of locals. It is only a 5 minute boat ride from the city center. During the summer months Vukovar fishermen organize boat transport from the city center and back every day from 10:00 to 20:00.

This complex of 12 lakes (9 of them are fish ponds) is popular picnic and recreation area, ideal for fishing. With relaxing atmosphere, it is a favourite resort for the people of Virovitica. It has many facilities, children's playground, cafes and restaurants.

Arboretum is located in the village Lisicine on the Papuk mountain. Founded in 1979 in the area of 40 hectares, arboretum has rich variety of plants (currently over 500), both native and other species originating from Europe, Asia and America.
