The 10 Best Nature & Parks in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

May 28, 2021 Layne Dawes

Snow-capped Himalayan peaks and green pastures surround Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Enjoy a heritage walk through Shimla’s Victorian-era architecture, labyrinthine bazaars and lengthy pedestrian shopping mall. Don’t cause too much trouble taking in the town from Scandal Point, a large, open square; keep in mind that Shimla was a retreat destination for Mahatma Gandhi, who frequented a Georgian mansion in Shimla’s suburbs from the mid-1930s to '40s.

A beautiful place to hike near Shimla, its a easy trek and families can also go here. Do carry lots of water with you as there is no source of water en-route. On a clear day you can see the mountains all around and its a good place for photography.

The climb can be quite high in certain places - especially with the steps. There is a more scenic route as well - with less height but takes longer - is a much nicer walk. The temple is filled with monkeys so be careful of your belongings

Tani-Jubber Lake

Reviewed By kakaanirban

Tani jubbar lake is situated within the apple country of Shimla district between Narkanda and Thanedar. Tucked away from the main road the lake is a hidden gem. The lake is encircled with high mountains full of Deodar and their reflection on the rippling waters look beautiful. A stoned walkway is build around the lake and there's a serene Nag Devta temple beside the lake.
