Palma, the economic and cultural hub of Majorca, is a delightful base for exploring the island's many gold and white beaches. A former Moorish casbah, or walled city, Palma's Old Town is an appealing maze of narrow streets that are a delight to explore on foot. Hop on the Soller Railway for a 17-mile scenic trip, visit 14th-century Bellver Castle and the museum of contemporary art, and check out the nightlife.

Absolutely gorgeous beach. You will find numerous reviews on how to get there. It does involve a walk, and then a mountainous walk (not very long). The path down is steep and requires some consideration and careful walking, but it is worth it. Watch the tides if you want to lie on the sand. If high tide you will be sitting on rocks which aren't particularly comfortable. It gets busy too. A popular spot, well worth the trouble of getting to. We read a few reviews about it being a nudist spot. Not when we were there.

Let's face it Palma city can be hot during the summer months but the emphasis is on it being a place for people to enjoy. There are many secluded seating areas dotted around but this has to rate as the most beautiful one of all. With fountains and pergolas as well as plentiful stone benches to sit and relax on it is easy to forget that you are a few paces away from the major shopping areas. Enjoy.

Three clean beaches that can be a bit of a challenge to reach, but well worth it, one has a bar on it and quite small one much larger with facilities . The naturist beach in the centre is very lovely with great clear water for snorkelling,by far our favourite, returning this year
