The 10 Best Nature & Parks in Koror, Koror Island

September 3, 2021 Leonarda Pillsbury

It’s time to one-up all those people you know who brag about swimming with dolphins. How? Tell them you swam with jellyfish in Koror at Jellyfish Lake. (They don’t sting, but that can be our little secret.) For an adventurous day trip, visit Ngardmau Falls-- your tour will involve hundreds of stairs, wading across a river, and hiking along an abandoned mine railway.

This was our second day of scuba with Fish N Fins, Jellyfish Lake was more incredible than I had imagined it to be. The steps getting there are a little tough but so so so worth it. I’m so glad we experienced this beauty between our dives.

Worth the effort to walk from the highway down to the falls. Interesting sites along the way. Take a stick to aid walking, a packed lunch, drinks and ensure you go into the pool and feel the exhilaration sitting under the falls.

Before I start my review I recommend calling Captain John for a private charter. He is cheaper than all the other companies and is flexible with time. (680) 778-7333. Anyways.... You have to come here if visiting Palau. This place is included with most tours but it was a must stop on my list. Although you don't need to spend a bunch of time here you do need to pay it a visit. The mud is soft and feels nice on the skin. Plus you can get creative and draw on each other of yourself with it. It's located in a beautiful lagoon where you can swim for a while.

Very nice place for a one day trip. Bit expensive but worth the money (we went with IMPAC tours for 170$ pp). The atoll is so nice and here you get the beaches you miss in Koror.

Dolphins Pacific

The $4 million dollar center provides several different ways to learn about dolphins.

I enjoyed the good people who take care of the sanctuary and dolphins and admire their commitment to this small but noble cause. It's a non profit venture that needs our support and I only see as positive. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience which included interaction with and diving with the dolphins and learned much... I would do it again and take my kids... thanks Hiroyuki-san and team!
