Central Gardens

Central Park's best known feature among the younger set is the Rocket, which is a great adventure to climb; it also has an extra-long slide. The gardens have lush foliage, meandering paths and 'green rooms' for photography. Since they were established in 1900, the gardens have had their ups and downs, but they remain one of Hawthorn's favorite places; the gardens can be hired for functions.

Fairview Park

A great park for a dog walk - flanked by the Yarra River and well away from any roads and with an opportunity for an energetic walk around the paths or a game of social cricket or football in the centre of the park and a playground for the little kids.

Yarra Bank Reserve

Reviewed By Ellche

A great safe & clean park if you want river views and bush land plus open green fields. BBQ facilities, bins, toilets, playground, easy parking. There is a steepish path down to the river but that's great to forget you're in inner city. Very popular with dog owners - a nice walk along the river that gets a bit rugged further on. Lots of room to play fetch with friendly people around. You can watch the rowers training, sit under a shady tree or lay out a picnic rug.
