Kumana National Park

Kumana National Park spreads over an area of 35,664 hectares. In the west, the park is bordered by River Kumubukkan Oya; to the south is south-eastern coast that runs to Panama. A 200 hectares mangrove swamp called “Kumana Villu” within the Park is subject to occasional inundation with sea water. It is at this swamp that many water birds nest, during the months of May and June. Scattered in the Kumana National Park are several water pools that are favorite spots of the wildlife: Kudawila wewa, Thummulla wewa and Kotalinda wewa.

Nice park with lots of animals, but not many tourists. Plenty of buffalos, wild pigs, deer, we also saw foxes, mongoose and an elephant. Myriad of birds, any bird lover will be thrilled.

Nice calm place to rest a bit when you are traveling to Trincomalee. Enough spaces are there to park vehicles. No shops nearby. So you have to enjoy what you have taken with you. View is awesome either side of the dam. Specially early mornings and late evenings.

Arisimale Beach

Reviewed By RifnazM - Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka

It's a rare beach you can find because of it's location and the sand. Beach sand almost similar to rice thereby it's called as "Arisimalai" in the local language. The crystal clear water and the slight waves will make you curious if you bath there. Highly recommend to visit if you cross Pulmodai, Sri Lanka eventhough it's quiet difficult to be there.

Wonderfull beach and safe sea-bathing place at East Coast in Sri Lanka When we go to the east coast in Sri Lanka, we always select Pasikudha beach for sea-bathing and relaxing at the beach. The beach is clean. This warm blue sea is calm (during April in our experience) and can enjoy swimming safely.

Pasikudah Beach

Reviewed By sarathkumaraab - Piliyandala, Sri Lanka

Pasikuda in Easton region of Sri Lanka is one of the most suitable beach for sea bathing in the country like Tangalle and Polhena in southern region with shallow sea with wide sand beach and less sea waves. There are many hotels and guest houses in the area. Most of them are star class & expensive hotels. But you can find budget places around Kalkuda area for group stays. View point of Sunrise is also located in a point between Pasikudah bay and Kaikudah bay. For this view point, not much tourist comes due to unpopularity of the place. But it is an amazing place to visit early in the morning to witness the sunrise. Visitors can walk around the beach and early morning local fisherman’s are catching fish using traditional methods. This place is excellent location to witness the sunrise.
