Talaia D’Alcudia

Reviewed By gpapstacey - Alcudia, Spain

Moderate hike from the Ermita up to the Talaia. Some loose rocks and narrow trail in stretches near the peak so some extra care is recommended. At this time of year shaded areas can remain damp all day and good gripping footwear is advisable. We continued on to Coll Baix. Keep an eye out for the paint-dot signing to show the way. Worth every step.

Aucanada Beach

Reviewed By Kinjo7 - London, United Kingdom

Lots of character, little rocky bays, grassy areas with pine trees and sculptures, seems popular with local families, walks along the shoreline leading to the cliffs beyond. Great for snorkelling. We walked there from Alcudia Port. I slipped on an algae-covered slab and cut my hand and arm quite badly on razor sharp rocks nearby trying to steady myself as I fell - so care and caution is advised! Some confusion over the name - locally signposted Alcanada.

Platja Des Coll Baix

Reviewed By bea1926 - Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom

Parked at the end car park (not the first one) and took 20-30 minutes to walk down and around 30 minutes to walk back. Most of the path was OK - rocky and uneven - but the last part was a scramble over the rocks. Couple of tricky parts (especially if you don't like heights!) but really worth it. Take water and wear good shoes and the sea and views are stunning.

Puig de Sant Marti

Reviewed By Kinjo7 - London, United Kingdom

A very clear path to the summit, steep in places but well worth the effort to experience the outstanding views from the top - breathtaking (literally!). A little rain at the summit (refreshing) followed by bright sunshine produced a stunning rainbow that arched over Alcudia, the peninsular ahead and the port below. Downside - loads of mosquitos that seemed to be immune to repellent. (We were told that this was an unually prolific mosquito season.) Tricky to find the start of the trail. Follow signposts to Cova (Cave) de Sant Marti from the Alcudia Resort area, then cross the main bypass road to the signposted start to the trail. Lots of less-familiar birds to spot - we saw a pair of colourful hoopoes.
