Kalgan River

Reviewed By j0n1g - Perth, Australia

The Kalgan river is teaming with wildlife! Big ospreys birds nests as they dive for fish, lots of black bream, mulloway, black cockatoos and kangeroos! Luke Pens trail is great for hikers and there’s plenty of bends in the river for picnics or reading a book. Huge trees!!!! Nice clean water so swimming is recommended. Upper and lower bridges great for fishing or find a small beach to drop a line in

Bald Head Walk Trail

Reviewed By Finlay122 - Perth, Australia

We had just done three days walking in the Stirling Range and I have to say I found this walk far more enjoyable and scenic. You must go prepared though as it is a long walk with no shade and definitely the domain of the FLY. Hats, suncsreen, LOTs of water and a fly net and you will be fine. The whole walk has stunning views, so take time to stop and look. Your eventually arrive at a 'bald head' looking rock, but don't be fooled into thinking that is the end...there is a rather scrabbly sand climb/slide to tackle before you reach the spectacular finale. Its listed as a Grade 5 walk (Bluff Knoll is only a Grade 4), I suspect this is may be due to the distance and perhaps the sandy scrabble..but we didn't find it any more challenging. If you enjoy bush walking give this go.

Long stretch of pure white sand and azure ocean, along with clean air make this beach a wonderful place to visit. Walk from one end to the other on hard sand. You will barely see another soul. It’s heaven.

Torndirrup National Park

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

Torndirrup National Park contains many features of interest, from the Natural Bridge and the Gap to whale watching from the cliffs during winter. From the car park, there is a 1.6 km (5250 feet) return walk to the Blowholes. The Blowholes are spectacular when there is a swell running. This rugged coastal park has rough-hewn raw granite outcrops and rugged coastal scenery. When you are walking near the beach,, beware of king waves. Beach fishing will appeal to anglers; rock fishing is hazardous and is not recommended. The park has BBQs, a shop, tables and toilets. There is a recreation camp at Quaranup. Torndirrup National Park is accessible by two-wheel drive vehicle.
