The 10 Best Museums in Maui, Hawaii (HI)

December 24, 2021 Marissa Gamble

The Hawaiian island of Maui is a destination for true nature lovers. The ethereal bamboo forest and churning waterfalls in Haleakala National Park can be explored via the Waimoku Falls Trail. Stretch out on warm, golden sands or hit the surf for an unforgettable windsurfing or snorkeling session. Driving the scenic road to Hana along the island’s northeastern shore will be among the most spectacular journeys of your life. Time stands still at the Hawaiian village of Keanae, definitely worth a visit.

Lahaina Printsellers

Some years back, we opened our newest gallery, Lahaina Printsellers Ltd. Located in downtown Lahaina, right on Front Street. We are proud to be a part of this popular tourist area. Our gallery features the finest in contemporary art, infused metal art and photography, as well as an extensive selection of original antique maps, etchings and charts. Being our main gallery, we feature an extensive collection comprised of over 40 local artists printed on 100% premium cotton canvas. We also feature some of Maui's best photographer's art, on infused metal. If you fall in love with one of these magnificent metals, we ship anywhere in the world! In this gallery, we're also excited to offer the line that started it all for us back in 1978. It's a shop within a shop, chock-full of an impressive assortment of original antique maps, prints, and engravings, showcasing Hawaii, the Pacific and The World.

Wow! We happened to walk by Maui on Metal, just by chance and were incredibly impressed by the photos and staff there. Kayanna was really knowledgeable and went out of her way to present us with options for the piece that we had chosen. We selected “Pele’s Night” which is absolutely amazing — it has both lava AND the Milky Way all in a single photo. COVID has been really tough on local businesses and we’re happy to know that this business is going to be able to continue to operate, and also glad that we could support them by purchasing a piece. If you are in Maui, this is definitely worth a visit — even if you don’t take a piece home, you’ll have an opportunity to view the beauty of the photos on display!

I discovered the Daryl Millard Gallery and Daryl works back in Canada on his website while reminiscing about my last try trip to Maui. His artwork and talent is out of this world my friend and I got goosebumps looking at his exceptional paintings. You are transported back to the beach and you smell and hear the tiki torches hiss you feel the trade winds and feel the rhythmic ocean waves lap at your feet.I can’t rave enough!! I’m a new collector and huge fan.Ive purchased 2 paintings one for myself and one for my Mom’s birthday she cried when she recognized the box from the gallery even before he saw her artwork,That Daryl kindly dedicated in Hawaiian for her. That night we kept going back in her bedroom Looking at her new artwork watching the fading daylight change and really compliment the sunset on her new painting it was magical as our sun was setting the setting sun in her beach scene shimmered more and more on the ocean her artwork was alive. Its not just Daryls talent but his energy that breathes life into his canvases.I vow to get back to Maui and stop number one,two and three will be to The Daryl Millard gallery.Vanessa was a delight and a breath of fresh air to speak and visit with I felt like I was talking to an old friend both purchases she’s helped with and made the transactions Effortless and gave me the confidence with such difficult decisions of what was to come home. Not to mention the exceptional frames that Daryl makes to choose from Can’t wait to meet her in person and to walk through Daryls Gallery. The essence of old Hawaii jumps out at you the colours textures and scenes awe and inspires your heart to say “REMEMBER?” And my soul said “I AM BACK “. I have not traveled much but am starting. I like to buy something of quality to remember my trip by. Maui Hands was perfect for this with a variety of pieces made by local artists. I ended up purchasing a one of a kind gold ring with four beautiful gems. LOVE IT! And Ii bought a gold and pearl necklace. My adult daughter treated herself to a one of a kind blue gem stone gold ring with matching earrings. Yep, the blue reminded us of the beautifull ocean. Hope to visit this spot again and find anohter life treasure.

Peter Lik Gallery

Reviewed By BillyBoswellLA - Shreveport, United States

Awesome photographic gallery of beautiful outdoor photos by Peter Lik. Most are panographic in nature with very striking colors - volcanos, ocean, forests, sunrises and sunsets. Some of the larger framed pieces run up to $10K but you can order smaller prints and have them shipped to you. He also has studios in Las Vegas. Great place to see quality photographic work.

we represent over 25 local artists, and you will find a wide variety of art from original oil paintings, photos on aluminum, hand blown glass vases and sculptures, etched aluminum art, ceramic art, wood carvings, koa paddles, and much much more. Definately a great place to stop and get a favorite piece of art for a memory of Maui, to decorate your home or condo, or just to add to your collection.

I haven’t gone into Maui Fine Art for many years because of an older man that worked there, presenting himself as the owner. The one time I was there, he made me incredibly uncomfortable and feeling like I needed a shower when I left. What a wonderful experience when I learned that he had been let go and I went in to see about getting a large photo framed! Chad, the owner, was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend giving Maui Fine Art your business!
