Our first private tour and we were delighted with the experience. The tour was fast-paced, which was fine for us - be ready at 8 am. We saw so much more than if we would have tried it on our own. We were lucky to have a friendly guide, Michael. He was knowledgeable and entertaining, with excellent driving skills. Our plan of visiting Romania during COVID-19 end well, and I hope to discover more in the next years.

Autumn is a great time to visit Transylvania. One of the highlights for me was the mountain roads and seeing the bright autumn colours in the forests. The scenery is spectacular! Bogdan is an excellent tour guide who entertained me with his stories and knowledge of the castles. He is able to explain the history of the region and to answer any questions. Due to COVID, the castles were not crowded and the lines were short. The cold misty weather when I visited Bran Castle added to the spooky atmosphere.

If Transylvania is on your bucket list, pack your garlic and get ready for the adventure of your lifetime! Universal literature found valuable sources of inspirations in some of Romania’s castles, so that now we can enjoy the famous “Dracula” by Bram Stoker and “The Castle in the Carpathians” by Jules Verne. Transylvania is the last truly medieval landscape in Europe, definitely feels like a travel back in time, like if you’ve gone back 100 years. We did this Balkans tour in November last year (2019). It's great that this Tour Company only books small numbers on these tours - there were only 5 of us in the mini van so it was very comfortable. Alex was our guide. He was excellent - very informative, attentive, and you could tell he genuinely wanted to do anything possible to ensure we all got the most out of our trip. He was also open to itinerary changes that suited our group, which meant that even though it was a group tour it still felt very personliased and flexible. We loved all the countries and sites we got to visit. You can tell this Tour Company has spent a lot of time making sure the itinerary is interesting, and that their customers get to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. The hotels have also been carefully selected - they were all in central locations and high quality hotels. Overall this was an excellent tour - great communication leading up to the trip, an excellent guide, fantastic itinerary and hotels, and very good value for money. We would highly recommend Guided Europe Tours to anyone interested in visiting the Bulkans.

The city locals pride themselves with something to do any given evening, regardless the season. There is always someone to meet or see, a good restaurant or terrace to stop by, or simply take a relaxing stroll. All roads go to... not to the proverbial Rome in this case, but to the heart of Sibiu's Old Town, the Big Square.
