The 10 Best Multi-day Tours in Prague, Bohemia

June 17, 2021 Stefan Strunk

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

South Moravia is the most important wine region in Czeh Republic. Miukulov is one of its charming historical cities located 2,5-hour drive from Prague. The region includes 96% of the country’s vineyards. Wine growing in this region has been reliably traced back to the Roman Empire period – the 2nd century AD. Ideally situated north of the Alps and at the Western edge of the Carpathian Mountains, the region benefits from a cooler climate, which excels at white wine production. Quality can be outstanding, especially the Moravian whites. Mikulov has certainly the highest concentration of wine cellars for tastings, as well as a fairytale chateau on a hill overlooking the town. Like a guardian, the Pálava Hills, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, seem to be carefully watching the vines.

Inclusions: Lunch, Lunch, Lunch, Dinner, 2 nights accommodation, All taxes, fees and handling charges, Driver/guide, Bottled water, Snacks, Wine tasting, Alcoholic Beverages

We signed up for a private cooking class with Tereza, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our 2+ week trip throughout Europe. Tereza was professional, friendly, and prompt throughout all of our communications. We liked the idea of a private cooking class because it meant we had full control over the menu. The day of our cooking class, Tereza picked us up at our hotel around 1000 with all of the ingredients for our three-course menu, which we decided on beforehand. She then took us to her house where we ate, drank, and swapped globetrotting stories for the next 5.5 hours. The food was delicious, and Tereza the day of even tailored the recipes to the part of Bohemia where my ancestors were originally from so I could get a sense of what they are. She also went above and beyond by accessing the Czech-language Czech Holocaust website and translating documents related a potential relative for me. We had only found out about this individual while visiting the Jewish Quarter earlier in our trip, so we were eager to learn more about him. When our afternoon was over, Tereza sent us home with leftovers and helped us get home safe. If you are looking for a fun, unique activity to do while traveling, I highly recommend taking a cooking class with Tereza. She provides clear, simple instructions for all skill levels. If, like us, you are an avid cook, Tereza will adjust her instructions accordingly while teaching you unique things about Czech cuisine. Don’t miss out in this awesome opportunity to learn more about Czech culture!
