Lovely property convenient to Acadia

Reviewed By robandjesss

We very much enjoyed our stay here! The property is beautifully maintained with a playground and cute lake, and our kids enjoyed the paddle boat and watching the mama and baby ducks. The cabins were stocked with everything we needed, and we enjoyed the fresh air on the screened porch. The property is convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor (~10-15 min drive down the road) and the mainland. The only downside was a bit of noise from the road. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Seawall Motel

The Seawall Motel is located on the quietside of Mount Desert Island in the Southwest Harbor area. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the Motel borders the Seawall entrance to Acadia National Park. It adjoins a pine forest and a fresh water pond which provides ample opportunities for birdwatching and scenic photography. Just beyond the scenic areas, you'll approach two of the many walking trails of Acadia National Park: Ship Harbor and Wonderland. Each is less than a two-mile hike along the ocean and nature trails. Clean accommodations- not fancy more like aVintage motel from the 60’s. You can drive or take the shuttle bus to Bar Harbor . Plenty of trails nearby with ocean views as the motel is adjacent to part of Acadia National Park . Bass Harbor Light is just down the road . Don’t over look this gem when considering your stay on MDI. You won’t be disappointed!

Noisy all night long

Reviewed By Bnizzle76

The cottages are clean and in a great location 5-10mins from Bar Harbor and Acadia…but, our cottage, basically sat right on HWY 3. It was so loud all night long. Unfortunately, I would not stay in this cabin again, maybe the others are quieter. Also, even though days before our stay- I made several attempts via phone and email to confirm our checkin time, there was no response until the day of checkin. On the website it says until 8:30pm, but the day we checked in, the office closed @ 7:00pm. It was disconcerting to not know if we’d be able to checkin…

Edenbrook Motel is a family run business since we opened in 1953. Our modest rooms in the 1st and 3rd are updated and accommodating families, and with a covered porch. The 2nd and 4th rooms are modern and very up-to-date with balconies and top floor of the 4th has views of Frenchman's Bay. This is reflected in the prices. We welcome reviews from all our guests.

No refunds for Covid

We made a reservation to stay for two nights starting Oct. 16 2021. Just two hours after we finalized the reservation, my Covid test came out positive. We contacted the motel, kindly asking for a refund. Not only they refused, they were completely silent to my inquiries after that. I wrote them at least three emails. No response. They must be glad they made a little bit of easy money out of an unforseen health problem.

Great Deal and So Convenient!

Reviewed By Katherine M

We stayed at Island Place in Bar Harbor for three nights and I would highly recommend it. It was very reasonably priced and had everything we needed. Since it is such a small motel, with only about 11 rooms, everything was so convenient. We could park right in front of our room so the many trips back to our car were quick and easy. They have a small table and 2 chairs outside every room where we drank wine and reflected on our day each night. We had 24 hour access to the main office which was only a few doors down and it had coffee, a hot water station for tea and hot chocolate, and a water bottle station with ice so we could fill our water bottles as needed. Also, the people were very friendly and helpful. The location was an easy walk to downtown and there was a grocery store about two blocks away as well. The room is nothing fancy, but had everything we needed and was very clean. The flowers and landscaping around the hotel was well done. Compared to the cost of other places close to downtown Bar Harbor, Island Place is a great deal and we would definitely stay there again.
