Forte Beisner Opera 4

After a short use during WW2, the bunker has been reused in the Cold War, officially until 1992. The military site has an extension of almost 1 km and develops under the small hill known as “Monte Palla” or “Kugel Berg” in the middle of Valbruna’s plane. The “Kugel Berg” is a historical site. On its top, it is possible to observe the remains of an unaccomplished fortification and battery which dates 1849 and WW1 trenches. These sites have been recently rediscovered by the association which protects this historical attraction. The site is managed by the local cultural association “LandScapes”. The volunteers organize guided tours, talks, and exhibitions for free. The site is generally open during the summer season and during Christmas, once a month.
