Reviewed By Navigate27722653867We had a great time at Pacaya Samira. The lodge has private accommodations with their own bathroom. They provided a net to avoid mosquitos and we slept wonderfully without bugs. Food is also incredible, we ate plenty and deliciously. The staff was very kind and careful. Our guide, Marden, has a lot of experience, even worked for National Geographic. He showed us with the help of Rogelio (motorboard) the whereabouts and took us the best spots. We saw a lot a flora and fauna and a lot of pink dolphins! On the last day, we had a full exploration day by boat, and had lunch in a beautiful spot with very delicious food! Thank you for everything!

Curuhuinsi Lodge is a Community Project at 260 km South of Iquitos Near the National Park Pacaya Samiria Run by Local People and Local Guides,we provides lodging to people who want to stay in the jungle, far from civilization. We have 7 Bungalows with private bathroom and shower, we also have a hammock house to rest or simply to relax, there is also a large dining room and a kitchen. The accommodation is surrounded by a safe and very relaxing area, we have electricity available from 6 pm to 9 or 10 pm to charge batteries, cameras, ipads and cell phones, and a panoramic view of a tower that is in front of the accommodation while you enjoy the sight and sound of nature.
Great jungle experience
Reviewed By Rocio RI spent two nights in the jungle. Gerson took care of everything. As a solo traveller I felt taken care of. Picked up at the airport and dropped off at my hotel at the end of my jungle stay. Gerson and Bala know the jungle very well and it was amazing to see how they spotted animals so easy. We saw pink and grey dolphins, beautiful sunsets, guacamayas, monkeys, many different birds and caught some pirañas. I had a great time and I’m glad I chose to make the Peruvian Amazonia part of my travel itinerary to Peru. I highly recommend Curuhuinse Lodge for an authentic jungle experience. Who better than a local to show you how life in the jungle really is.

All the staff are locals from the rainforest and because there are usually just 4/5 small groups/couples everybody knows everybody and is super helpful. Our guide Gumar was incredible, he knew exactly where to find all the animals, we would go looking for something and he would find it in minutes, and just took great care of us. He catered the experience completely to what we wanted to do and see. The local food was tasty and plenty, the lodge was large and remote, the rooms clean and comfortable. We had an amazing experience in the Amazon!

An Immersive Amazon Jungle Experience
Reviewed By Adrienne LI highly recommend this tour for solo travelers, couples and friends. Anytime you want to do a tour and whatever it maybe, the guides here are very kind and patient. My guide Junior was a good guide. He speaks English and he is very patient and kind. I unfortunately got sick on my tour and when I got sick, Junior was more than just a guide, he went out of his way to get me medical attention in whatever way possible. He’s there to listen to you, guide you through the Amazon and help you mentally, emotionally and physically. On this tour, you’ll get to experience unique things like holding monkeys, sloths, anaconda snakes, and parrots. You’ll get to experience trying a tree bark tea and eating local food. The food the lodge gives you is fresh and they’ll feed you beyond what you can handle. I do want to advise people that, maybe this isn’t the best tour for you if you are on a CPAP machine as the power is limited and there isn’t any wifi or phone service. So before your stay, make sure you contact your loved ones and let them know what you’ll be doing because you won’t have contact with them. You will be completely two hours from Iquitos in the jungle and you will have to take this time to be unplugged. The rooms, there are nets around the beds and it’s basically like a room tent because at night, you’ll get to hear the sounds of the jungle and nope you won’t get any air conditioning!! This is a full Emerson of the rainforest. Anything you need on this tour, Junior or any guide will be there for you and Christian the owner is very kind and helpful and he made sure I went to the currency exchange. It’s important you go to the currency exchange and get small denominations before staying here so you can get some special suvinours and it’s important to remember DONT FORGET YOUR DEET, RAIN JACKET AND A FLASHLIGHT!!!

Cool medicinal plants admired and tested on skin. termites used as anti mosquito cream. We aeten caiman . 4 days of a busy schedule. And good planning and rest. fell asleep in a good bed every night tired with a good feeling.het Please rinse the cutlery and glasses yourself with hot water each time before use, they will be washed in the river. fantastic it was. a journey i will never forget.

From when you walk in and take in its breathtaking views, there is something special about this place, you can feel it in the aura and energy from the moment you walk in. The lodge location and energy is complimented by their kind and attentive staff! Always ready to accommodate you with a delicious amazonian meal or an exciting excursion into the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. They truly made me feel relaxed and carefree.

Special experience in the jungle
Reviewed By Jeanne MWe spent 5 nights here as part of a group on a medical mission to nearby villages. The staff at the lodge were incredibly accommodating. The rooms are basic and the latrines are pit toilets but all is well maintained and clean, with great mosquito nets over comfortable single beds. The food was outstanding especially considering we were in the jungle. Guillermo the shaman is amazing. Do not miss his demonstration of his craft and if you can arrange not only to walk the canopy but do a night trip to see the biophosphorescent fungi on the trail below. Magical. We hope to return.
