Location was just outside the centre but well worth it with the great views from the balcony over the golf course, the comfortable room and great bistro. Day trips around the area including a pie at the Pt Elliott Bakery made the short trip to Victor Harbor very enjoyable.

Nice clean and comfortable rooms, food a little expensive

Reviewed By Twowellls123

Rooms were comfortable, although shower room was rather tiny. Breakfast was excellent, however I feel the dinner experience was a little ordinary. Meals were on the expensive side and the rump steak I had was not worth $30. Windows could do with double glazing, maybe that is why we were supplied with ear plugs

This worn-out place really needs a complete renovation and much better service

First let me tell the positive points of this hotel - it's location is good and it's fairly cheap. But you get what you pay for, and this place is in sad condition. Everything is out-of-date and frankly shabby. It could be a lovely place because of its history but it needs a top-to-bottom overhaul to bring it up to standards. When I arrived the manager casually told me my room was on the second floor, and didn't ask if I needed help with my bags (I'm 66 years old and would have appreciated some help). I had booked the smallest room and wasn't expecting much based on the photos, but even so I was disappointed. There was one - just one - electrical outlet in the entire room, so everything was plugged into it, including the refrigerator, heater, TV, etc. During the night I noticed the room was getting a little cold, and discovered that the heater wasn't generating heat any more. In fact everything except the two overhead lights no longer worked. Since it was very late I didn't bother calling the service number given to me (the front desk closed around 6 pm) but reported the power outage to the manager when I checked out in the morning. Apparently a fuse to my room blew, not surprising given the outdated wiring and the number of appliances plugged into a single outlet. The manager wasn't particularly conciliatory, and didn't offer any discount to make up for the inconvenience. I guess it was to be expected because nothing about this hotel measured up. They're planning on building a brand-new modern wing next to the hotel next year, so I'm guessing they're saving all their resources for that project and just doing the bare minimum of upkeep with the existing hotel. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

AVOID!

Reviewed By Allen T

We were set for a two day stay, paid in advance. The first room we were given had pet hair all over the floor, no fly screens, no locks on the windows. We asked for a new room. The new room had no locks on the windows, no light bulbs, smelled disgusting and was dirty. We decided to leave, and lost our money. Wife complained to the manager, who did not give a sh@t. Avoid at all costs.

Untidy and not clean Unit and Park

Reviewed By Jacinta B

We stayed in a cabin in the park. The couch was so dirty the arm rests were black and it sunk when you sat in it, hence we only sat in it once. The fire alarm wasn't connected to the ceiling in the kitchen area. The oven was in a cavity that was very in need of attention. The outside was covered in cobwebs, they need to sweep the outside of the cabins to clean away the cob webs. When you pay good money you expect to have a very clean cabin.

Beautiful setting and facilities were ok

Reviewed By emilywN4874II

Having stayed at a number of holiday parks, this one was ok, but not as great as other ones which was disappointing considering we paid the same as other holiday parks. We stayed in one of the new park view cabins, which were great, but they didn't have a dishwasher, coffee machine or oven, while other parks at similar price points did. The pool is "solar heated" (aka warmed by the sun to whatever the temp is that day!) and is small enough to be in someone's backyard, but the water slide, jumping pillow and scooter/BMX track were great! The wifi is capped at 1Gb per device per day which sucked after a busy day at the beach, the kids had gone to bed and the adults just wanted to watch a movie, but the movie cut out 45 minutes in! All these little things seem insignificant, but together, they added up to make the holiday considerably less enjoyable than others we've had elsewhere and we probably won't be back.

The compact room is cosy and has everything we need. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, giving us good advices of local attractions and routes plans. Great place for a couple or sole travellers.
