Reviewed By IbuytThe hotel is quite new it seems and even though it’s not fancy, it’s really nice, the room is small but plenty large for us, the bed comfortable and the free breakfast wasn’t a large selection but was very good also. Free parking also so I would have been happy paying a lot more than we did, it was extremely cheap for what we got. There were a couple of things I would change there if I could, like the air conditioner, it doesn’t have a slow enough speed and only blows straight on the bed and the WiFi doesn’t reach the bed, you have to stand by the door, this was the last room down the hall though, still, the WiFi should work in all the rooms. The location is great if you’re on the road but far away from everything else.

There are 160 apartments with air conditioning, 40 "LED TV with cable, laptop safe, reading lamps, work bench / in-room dining. Our restaurant "DOURO" with international cuisine, has one of the most complete wineries in the region. Breakfast is rated as "Fabulous" by our guests. We offer secure and covered parking, with valet service, for only R $ 10,00 per day per vehicle.
4th stay and quality is tops, even during COVID
Reviewed By DanielBrasiliaWe'd stayed 3 times at the GE before, but this was the 1st one during a critical COVID phase - we actually arrived on a day on which a lockdown was decreed in Uberlândia and all non-essential establishments were closed, included the nice shopping mall which is walking distance from the hotel. This decision did make us stay only one night instead of two, as the hotel is a great place for rest and food, but isn't really a resort - which is not its objective, anyway. However, the one night was awesome! The shower is just one of the strongest and with the easiest temperature mix, the in-room amenities are excellent, the beds are comfy, the A/C and TV work very well - the former being quiet, if not silent. And the highlight: though outside the hotel no store could sell alcoholic beverages, the hotel permitted us to have some nice drinks to go along with our well-served, delicious dinner. As on previous stays, we got their delicious cod steak, but through room service, as there could be no agglomeration for dinner. However, for breakfast, the guests could go down to their nice restaurant area and have of the best morning meal options around. They always have a fresh, milk-based drink and this time it was my favorite: the traditional Brazilian "avocado vitamine". Last but not least, the team is all excellent and requests are filled very quickly. Plus, whenever one is around the lobby, there is always a fresh fruit-flavored water and in the afternoons, a fresh fruit juice and finger sandwiches or pão de queijo. If you need to stop or stay in Uberlândia, I doubt there is a better option.

Tauá Grande Hotel e Termas de Araxá is a traditional hotel at a city in the state of Minas Gerais, Araxá, Brazil. The complex was build by the president of Brazil at 1944, Getúlio Vargas. It is an exuberant building, with an hispanic colonial style architecture. The gardens around the hotel were projected by the famous landscaper Burle Max, who had also worked with Oscar Niemeyer in many other works. The complex also has a lake and a great hiking trail through the grove of the property. Since 1944 this luxurious hotel gave to his visitors an unforgettable experience, so much by his glorious building, as the famous spa, offering guests special baths and massages.

Reviewed By DanielBrasiliaNot sure what I can write that hasn't been written before - this is a piece of history. Expensive? Very much so! But you get some of the best 4 meals you can get anywhere in Brazil - besides the traditional 3, delicious 5 pm tea/coffee time (detail - the teas could be a bit more special - like Twinings - and not the good, but not so special Brazilian brand Leão). And if you stay 2 days, the leisure and spa team offer enough activities that'll help you spend the time between those meals. There are nice opportunities to walk in the region - it's not really the most exuberant nature in Brazil, but it's pleasant. Staying 2 nights, my wife and I didn't have time to try some of the spa treatments - that'll be on our to-do-list for the next visit, and there will be one. We stayed on the 6th floor, facing the front area. There's a pretty view, but apparently there are often outside events and a book fair was just being set up, making it not so "pretty". The 6th floor is a must if you value a balcony - as we do. The rooms are not even that large, but sufficient. Very comfortable, though not particularly luxurious. All very clean and very quiet, as we like it. Of course it helped we went off-season and we were among at most 50 guests - there is room for about 700 when it's full. The relative emptiness was perfect for us when, on the 1st morning there we had the nice, warm pool just to ourselves. And we were among the youngest guests - both my wife and I are close to 60. It makes sense: it's really for those already have a pretty steady and guaranteed income. You absolutely most have a tour of the hotel and of the Presidential suite. Just a few things to improve: in the rooms, the shower could use a reform - the water was unsteadily warm - the A/C is not the silent kind - the days weren't too hot and we slept with our French doors open. In the public bathrooms, the drying paper is really flimsy and doesn't dry well. Finally, in the F&B - we found that some of the waitresses don't really know the drink options and need some better training. One had no idea what a Kir Royal is. Absolutely nothing that will deter us from returning.

Registering was a bit of a problem but not due to any mistake on the part of the hotel staff. In fact the staff was very helpful and quite sympathetic. Staying there was a good experience, the place is quiet, breakfast has regional food and the restaurant is also good, and easygoing. A place I recommend...

Mediocre: not very clean, but good breakfast
Reviewed By m1508Located on the outskirts of Uberaba is the Dan Inn, around 10 minutes by car from the airport right next to the highway exit. The rooms are spacious, but outdated and are equipped with a TV, a fridge and a very noisy air-con. There are no elevators in the hotel, so if you're unlucky you might have drag your luggage up to the third floor. The main drawback of the Dan Inn in my opinion however the poor cleaning standards. When I entered the room, the shower had hairs sticking to the walls and cobwebs on the ceiling, neither of which was removed the second day. On the plus side: there is free WiFi and the breakfast buffet is quite OK. The Dan Inn might be an acceptable option for a short stay and if the location is convenient for you. Otherwise I'd take my money elsewhere.
