American style lodge in the forest.
Reviewed By YorkshireAviatorScattered across a forested slope there are several three storey lodges,which look like wooden buildings at first glance,but are non- creaky masonry.The stairs have no risers,and need a little care if climbing in a hurry. The rooms are of generous size, with balconies.There is plenty of furniture,including good firm beds.Th bare wood floors did not seem to cause any noise problem.Budget aspects of the accommodation were having no bath,no sink plug and no hairdryer- but this was as expected. Comfort was reduced by the inadequate pillows,but the weather was warm enough to use a duvet for this purpose.I would expect the second floor rooms to be uncomfortable in hot weather,in view of the large area in proportion to window size.There was no fan. We slept well ,but required to close the windows owing to the usual nocturnal barking dogs. Breakfast and dinner were entirely satisfactory.The property showed no areas of neglect or bad maintenance.I would glady visit again.

Our guest house is situated in the central part of Bucovina being surrounded by green forests, meadows with flowers, friendly people and the painted monasteries which have been waiting for visitors for centuries. At 2.5 km from Sucevita Monastery in a meadow near Sucevita River, we built for us and for our guests a dream...the dream to stay in the middle of the nature in our guesthouse.

Reviewed By Dontstayhome_39The family that owns an operates this place is wonderful! So kind and welcoming. We can’t say enough about their hospitality. Breakfast was a terrific addition to our stay. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance that were both very good. This place is clean as well. Good location for scenery and mountain views in addition to painted mine statues and locally made pottery and painted eggs.

Reviewed By Donnie DFound this little restaurant en route in between monasteries, and very glad we did. Lovely freshly prepared local food for a very good price. Can't comment on the rooms though, as we're staying in Putna.

Reviewed By Sugarman1234I stayed here 10 years ago and decided to come back as i was in the area for the weekend and what a terrible mistake this was. This place is under new management for a few years now and the standards have slipped terribly. It bills itself as a 4* but i would not even class this as a 2* hotel and it is in a very bad shape. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by forest and on top of a small lake. But the compliments end there- the road to reach the hotel is full of holes and bumps. We arrived in the afternoon and could not park anywhere, there was a daytime wedding with about 200 cars so we had to park on the dirty road and walk. Upon checkin, reception staff completely disinterested = no regard for guests. They gave us a mobile (!) number for reception...We had a room in the accommodation annex, a short walk from the main building. The room had a terrace and seemed functional. However: 1) the radiator was not working at all, stone cold despite turning it up to the highest setting. Even being summer, it was rainy and in the mountains it gets quite cold so this was not ideal. 2) the hair dryer or the plug in the bathroom was not working 3) bed and bedding very poor quality. Mattress was about 10cm thick and seperate bedding and sheets despite being a double bed. 4) Our room was not turned over during the day, nothing cleaned or changed (towels, sheets) 4) hallways around rooms dirty and not clean (bin bags, coffee cups left for hours) 5) breakfast....some leftover sausages eggs and pastries from the wedding the day before, thrown on a table with guests left for themselves. 6) very dirty carpets and disinterested staff It was a shame to see this hotel end up in this state. Please avoid and check other alternatives.

A welcoming, warm atmosphere with people who are dedicated to the guests who step on their doorstep. We thank Mr. Marian for the hospitality and services offered during the weekend spent at Casa Octavian. Food at a very acceptable price 25 ron/serve and traditional Bucovina price. We recommend with confidence and look forward to returning to Sucevita Bucovina.

Worst host behavior I've ever encountered
Reviewed By Delia_UngureanuThe hosts are very disagreeable, the food is expensive and not very tasty. You can't ask for an empty glass, unless you buy a beverage, your ID has to be left at the reception until you leave. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything from the other rooms. Definitely not going back.

Really pleasant experience
Reviewed By Monica MThe host is very nice and friendly. The whole place is extremely clean and you can notice her efforts to make you feel welcomed. She prepares her own food so breakfast is a very rich experience, the omelette looks lovely like a pancake and is very tasty and she is also serving some meat specialities that are equally delicious. The apartament that we rented as a group of 4 had a bathroom placed in the middle which it was so handy and it brought us a lot of comfort. The monastery is really close to it. I would definitely recommend.

Zu kalt und feucht...
Reviewed By TTJBSFeuchte und kalte Zimmer. Die Heizung wurde nicht richtig warm. Weiterhin stank das Bad. Der modrige Gestank kam aus dem Gulli. Deshalb mussten wir uns im Nachbarzimmer bei der Familie waschen. Leider hatten wir auch alte und zum Teil kaputte Handtücher. Das Essen war gut. Allerdings war das Personal oft abkömmlich. Der Preis für die Unterkunft war gut.
