Great hotel. Super helpful and friendly staff

Reviewed By foodiesoraya

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and had a great time. There are plenty of activities to do in Manuel Antonio (we personally did the ATV tour organised by the hotel which was great), as well as taking time to chill by the pool/beach. The hotel has 2 pools - one for families and the other for adults only. We spent our time in the adults pool which has lovely views over the jungle/sea and enjoyed the 3-6pm Happy Hours. The hotel also has access to a beach - there are stairs from the hotel to get down to the beach. Overall, we found the food in the hotel to be good, particularly the food by the pool bar (although I would have preferred a buffet breakfast rather than having to pick from a menu). the rooms were clean and the staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. The staff went out of there way to make our stay great - they knew it was my Partners birthday as I had ordered a cake to the room beforehand. They went above and belongs to decorate our room with balloons and even gave us a bottle of wine on the house. The cake was nice delicious!! We were also particularly appreciative of Danny on reception who helped us by calling around different places to help us find the wallet my Partner had lost along the way… which he managed to track down for us! Overall I’d say this is a great hotel to stay in while in Manuel Antonio. I would recommend the ocean view rooms

Vacation of a Lifetime!

Reviewed By Tarheel_Jen

This was the most amazing trip we have ever taken as a family...part of it was the incredible beauty of Costs Rica + its people and the other part was due to our time at Tulemar. We came with our kids, son (14) and daughter (11), it was their first time. My husband and I had been to La Fortuna before, but it was our first time in Manuel Antonio....and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We balanced our time between a few excursions and a few days of relaxation at Tulemar. We worked with Alex, our concierge, prior to arriving in order o get things planned out and booked. He was extremely helpful and friendly, it was great to have him on hand as a resource. We arrived on a Saturday and the "boys" went fishing Sunday on the offshore, 3/4 day tour. They slayed wahoo and mahi...we had more fish than we could handle. But, not to worry, we had a private chef come Monday night and they used some of it and TuleCafe used some and cooked it for us as well. Tuesday we went on the full day waterfall tour with Waterfalls Heaven (Pawel was our guide - AMAZING!). This was the highlight of our trip, we did a private tour where we jumped off cliffs, over waterfalls and swam in the middle of the rainforest. It was a perfect day, filled with adrenaline and memories we will never forget. Wednesday we relaxed at the resort and private beach. We took in some wildlife and that night we took a Nigh Jungle Tour. It was not nearly as good as we expected, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thursday was our day for zip lining...we went with El Santuario Canopy Adventure and they did a fantastic job. There were 10 lines and one was almost a mile long! We all enjoyed the thrill of zipping through the treetops of the Costa Rican rainforest. Finally, Friday was a relax day, we were able to get our COVID tests in our casa, which were needed for a return to the US. The trip went amazingly, absolutely perfect...everything from the weather to the tour guides and of course, the staff at Tulemar (Alex, the drivers: Harry + David and the private chef: Marlon). Thanks to all and we will definitely be back again!!!!

The hotel is fantastic, comfy beds, well appointed and well maintained, and the restaurant’s food and views are both world class. The owner Boris is active around the property making sure guests are enjoying themselves and it’s a great personal touch. All the team members at the hotel are super kind and helpful. we had a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park set up by the hotel with their guide Juan Jose. He is a magical dude who speaks several languages, is incredibly knowledgeable about both the plant and animal life throughout the park and elsewhere around the world, and as well could probably teach graduate level courses on bio and eco diversity. He is awesome. If you book a tour through the hotel see if He is available!

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a fantastic time ever!! The service and food was amazing! Our room was nicely cleaned all the time. The staff was super pleasant and helpful. We saw tons of wild life just from our balcony, pool and all over the resort. Tons of monkeys and sloths. Lots of birds. The pools were great too. Sharing some videos. The night before we left there was huge storm that rolled in and we lost power in our building. The staff was there in less than half hour asking if we wanted to change room to another building with power so we did. It was great! Like I said, no regrets! Enjoy your stay if you are staying here.

An amazing and relaxing experience at The Falls. Jamie welcomed us, then walked us through the incredible jungle property to our beautiful, spacious room! All staff were friendly and so helpful throughout our 4 day stay, arranging tours (if asked), making suggestions, providing directions and arranging for Covid test. Loved the breakfasts - so many options - all made to order and delicious! Best pina colada’s I’ve ever had during Happy Hour! Enjoyed the pool in the afternoon! Very close to Manuel Antonio National Park (great animals, Playa Espadilla, and hiking), several wonderful beaches (visited Playa Biesanz), and great yoga (short walk). Walked to several restaurants for dinner, including El Avion (across the street) and ordered dinner in one night at the hotel, which was great. We even had a monkey show on our last day! Thank you for an amazing experience! We will definitely be back!!

BEST place on EARTH!

My family and I just returned from the most AMAZING vacation ever!! We had never been to Costa Rica so we didn't really know what to expect. We frequent the Bahamas and Florida Keys, but Arenas Del Mar is unbelievable! There was 11 people total in our group. When we arrived at the San Jose airport, a Mercedes Van was waiting to transport us to the hotel. We walked into the open air lobby and were immediately handed welcome drinks - the rooms are spotless and set up great for families. There is so much attention to detail at this resort that it is mind-blowing! The beaches, walking paths and entire property is paradise! I felt as if I was living in a fantasy world- we saw toucans, sloths, monkeys and many other animals every day. One of the things that makes this resort "the best" is the staff! We felt like family when the week was over. They have so much knowledge about the area that it was fun to be able to just talk with them and learn the Costa Rica way of life. Nelson, Karla, Alexandra, Brian all waited on us during our trip. You can tell they love their job and they will do anything to accommodate whatever you need. Anytime we needed to book an adventure or excursion, Nadia and the people at the front desk were awesome. They made everything so simple. The lifeguard played soccer and volleyball with the kids on the beach. Miguel (the chef) cooked Tuna that we caught and it was soooo delicious. All the fruit, juices, every meal we ate was so fresh and so many options for people with certain dietary needs as well. Farland was one of the golf cart drivers and he learned all 11 of our names by the 2nd day! There is so many activities offered on the property as well- they have yoga, surfing, volleyball, bingo, tortilla making, movie night, dinners on the beach with live music. I can honestly say that I can't think of one negative thing I could say about Arenas Del Mar. My family and I hope to visit every year going forward. BEST Vacay ever :)

This hotel is well remodeled, beautiful designs, and best vibes. I stayed here for a week in HoneyMoon Viilla and it was AMAZING. The staff members/customer service is definitely what make this place amazing. From Elias at the bar, to the golf cart drivers they are extra helpful, kind, and actually cater to you in a heart beat. You say jump they say how high, just be mindful and tip. I had an issue with wifi reception from our room and it was fixed as soon as I reported it and they resolved it ASAP.. All the excursions through the website were amazing, you get picked up and dropped off at the resort. I recommend you get a room with breakfast included because the restaurant was a bit pricey for my budget, but just make sure you search the food menu and view the dinner prices so you are comfortable with what the prices are. BUT! don't let that discourage you, closest town is an 8-15 minute walk and there is places to eat there or take a taxi that takes you anywhere you want to go from the hotel. There is two awesome pool and its adult only, so you never feel to close to anyone or a crowd I mean this place was amazing and will recommend 100% to anyone, you wont regret it. They put money into this place and it showed in every detail.

Beautiful hotel! Staff were professional and very helpful and accommodating. Thanks to Caleb and Nelson for being so nice! My girlfriend and I enjoyed the super comfortable room which was beautifully decorated with art from local artists. Water pressure in the shower was strong and beds are comfortable. The pools were enjoyable as well. We saw two types of monkeys from the room window and pool area during our stay! Easy to get to by car and right off the main paved road. Less than 15 min away from Manuel Antonio National Park and Playa Espadilla. Close to restaurants and room service delivery was available from El Arado which had good food. Would highly recommend to others and will look to book here again if we return to Quepos.

The Santa Juana Lodge is an exceptional experience. The casitas are lovely, and all have an amazing view, beautiful walk in shower and relaxing porch. Do not be deterred by the lack of air conditioning in this eco-friendly hotel—the breeze and fans are all you need .The personal attention and openness of the small staff there was outstanding. Allan, our guide, grew up in the little village there, and has tremendous knowledge and love for the local history, terrain and wildlife. His tours were excellent, and I learned to love bird watching. His mother is the chef at the open air restaurant, and in addition to her delicious traditional cooking, went out of her way to make pancakes and salads for our granddaughters. We stayed for three nights, and when time came to leave, felt we were saying goodbye to friends. Pura Vida
