Reviewed By JanBristolGood value typical standard Ibis hotel. Location ideal for breaking journey prior to or after channel crossing; only about 1 hour drive to Eurotunnel. Dog was welcome, easy parking (reasonably secure) and easy to locate. Did not take breakfast, at €18 pp felt too expensive. Easy 15-20 minute walk into Nieuwpoort itself. Will use again

Hotel Sandeshoved is located in the heart of Nieuwpoort Bad, at the beach promenade. Guests can relax in the restaurant, which serves fresh dishes and offers an intimate sea-view terrace. The hotel benefits from a 24-hour front desk and accommodations with private bathroom facilities. All of the rooms at Hotel Sandeshoved have a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Each morning an extensive buffet breakfast is served which includes items such as eggs, bacon and freshly baked pancakes. From the hotel it is a 5-minute walk to coast tram stop which offers direct connections to attractions all along the coast including De Panne and Oostende. Plopsaland is a 20-minute drive away. The Sandeshoved restaurant and tearoom specializes in fresh fish and mussels. In the afternoon cakes, ice cream and waffles are served. At Restaurant De Vloote guests can enjoy seasonal dishes prepared with local market products.
Awful.... Do not stay here at least not the apartments.
Reviewed By Ozzy SWhere to begin... What we paid for one week for a 2 bed-roomed apartment in this condition was WAY too much. Beds were literally like concrete, we had a very poor sleeping experience. Noise outside from our first floor was unpleasant as were the chain-smoking terrace occupiers below.. the tiny balcony with one chair was kept closed. Toilet had clearly been leaking for quite some time meaning there was a stain/mark on the wall/floor, but news to the staff there... no one came to actually fix it. Poor state of the apartment overall with garden furniture in the living room with the glass plate missing so you had no where to put a glass etc down without it falling over. Kettle with plaster where the handle used to be... etc you get the idea. We complained and after 2 days were moved to a smalled apartment on the 4th floor.... same noise and beds, but less smoke... same tiny balcony etc.... and the last place you will want to be if it is warm there... you will cook! Nieuwpoort itself is a waste of time if you are going with families. Restaurants tend to cater towards the more wealthy inhabitants, so if you want your 60 euro lobster go for it... otherwise there is very little there at the seaside for normal families. Overall stay elsewhere.

Not disappointed at all, good location, half pension, nice choice between multiple starters ,main dishes and desserts. So we could get what we want and change every day. Personel was very kind. Room was ok, just what is needed. Can travel from there to any location using the public transport along the coast for only 3€20 pp return ticket. Parking place available not far from the hotel.

Reviewed By ruperthubbard2016Truly delighted by our discovery of this excellent small hotel. The managers - Karin & Julien - are wonderfully welcoming people. Modern, spotlessly clean and spacious rooms with a delightful private outside seating area (when the weather permits). Under floor heating in rooms really appreciated. Great breakfast and super choice of food available with a number of excellent local gins and also wines by the glass. Highly recommended for travelers visiting the Belgian coast.

Reviewed By sjones839851Lovely room and bathroom, excellent breakfast. Only 5 mins walk to a row of restaurants and the coast tram stop. Our sat nav didn't recognise the one way system to get to the hotel, make sure your's is up to date!

The hotel is uniquely situated in Newport Beach (Nieuwpoort-Bad), a 75 meter walk from the beach of the North Sea. The town centre is very closeby and offers a range of quaint shops and restaurants. Hotel Uilenspiegel has 22 rooms, offering single, double and family rooms up to 4 persons. All rooms have a bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet ensuite. The rooms are also equiped with a telephone and television. Free wifi is available in the entire hotel. Our rooms with sea view are also equiped with a fridge. Breakfast is included and is served as a buffet (with a sea view) on the 5th floor. The breakfast area overlooks the coastline and the Nieuwpoort pier. Parking facilities are available (fees apply - reservation required). The hotel also has a safe indoor bicycle storage area. Hotel Uilenspiegel is the perfect accommodation for your seaside holiday being situated in the center of Newport Beach (Nieuwpoort-Bad), close to the exclusive shopping street and wide sandy beaches only 75 metres away. Don't miss an enjoyable walk (2km) along the renovated wooden promenade into Nieuwpoort town whilst passing the marina and fishing port. Koksijde and De Panne are a 10-15 minute drive away. The tram is the simplest way to visit these neighbouring coastal towns. We are looking forward to seeing you in Hotel Uilenspiegel!

Reviewed By Bob WFor check in you have to call somebody and wait outside a little quite messy lobby but the youngster came an was very friendly an it was fast and uncomplicated. Just about 100m away from the Hotel is a Private free parking thats a big +. The rooms are ok, clean, not to small. The beds are to soft!! The breakfast is good, the minimun but all you need for a breakfast!! Now the reason why i don't recomend this Hotel! My 2 year old son wanted to switch the light on over the bed and got a big elektic shock and felt back to the bed crying. There were one switch missing on the light and the wirering layed free. The fuses jumped out luckely and the whole 3 flor had no more power. I got down to the lobby where the old old me was sitting and all he had to do was making fun over the situation and told me a had to go up and put the fuse back in by my self!! Didn't care a second fir the kid!! After that an other men came to the room and told me he will fix it tommorow, i had to tell him at least put a piece of tape over it!! Lucky for them that the fuse jumped or the had a dead 2 year old boy in there hotel. But they don't care at all!!! That's why i will never come back and nether recommend it. without what happend it would be a nice little 2 star hotel good for a short stay!

Amazing B&B
Reviewed By KDBBelgiumFor a walking event in Nieuwpoort we decided to book 2 nights at B&B Villa Sans Soucis. At our arrival we were friendly welcomed by the owners and they offered us a drink in their cosy and stylish bar. Afterwards we were guided to our room. The room is spacious, very clean and all comfort available. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast, it started with fresh strawberries, delicious scrambled eggs and shrimps, afterwards a free choice of plenty of different kind of food. Nothing more to wish for a great breakfast. The owners were also very helpful to give advice for a nice restaurant in the evening. To conclude, we had a great stay at Villa Sans Soucis and we recommend this B&B.

Lovely B&B - highly recommended

It is a B&B, not a hotel, but that didn't mean we lacked a thing - the room was big, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed (even a mini bar with drinks at really sensible prices - a beer was 1 Euro). They don't do meals other than breakfast, but restaurants are only a short walk away, Breakfast was really lovely delivered in 2 wicker baskets to eat in your room, or outside in the courtyard - there was plenty to eat and it was nice. An is also a great host as she is very welcoming. Would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here, and would recommend over a hotel.
