The family-run 3-star Superior Brauhaus zum Löwen is located in the historic old town of Mühlhausen. The central location of the house allows a variety of recreational activities. The cozy and tastefully furnished comfort rooms of the hotel await you with a pure sense of well-being. The rooms can be booked as a single or double room, are mostly accessible by lift and share the main building and the directly connected houses "Unstrut", "Hainich" and guesthouse "La Villa". Two rooms are suitable for the disabled, three large family rooms are also ideal for the time away with children. Since beer is still brewed here, you can experience the tradition of the bride up close. In the cozy restaurant "Malztenne" you can dine right next to the boiler cabins, where Brauhaus Pilsner and Apotheker Dunkel are brewed in brewhouse style. A highlight is the brewery tour by the master brewer followed by a beer tasting. The traditional vaulted cellar serves beer garden in the Middle Ages and in summer.
"La Villa" rooms modern, clean & quiet
Reviewed By 361KimDWe were originally booked in the Brauhaus rooms. On being told that there was no lift and looking glum about dragging our bags up the stairs, we were then offered the more modern rooms in "La Villa" (belonging to the Hotel) diagonally opposite. "La Villa" has lifts! The"Comfort double" room was large, quiet and clean with comfortable beds. There was a desk with chair, a small table, armchairs, tea making facilities, lots of power points and good storage space. Also a balcony with chairs. The bathroom and shower were fine. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was a mixed experience. We were 3 and only 1 of us was happy with the meal. I had cauliflower soup which was neither very cauliflowery nor tasty. The other meals were - Mühlhausen Flammkuchen which was dry with very little topping - beef roulade with Thüringer Kloßen (dumpling) and Apfelrotkohl (apple mousse with red cabbage) which was fine. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of cold meats, cheese, bread, cereals, juices etc. Overall a good 3 star hotel, very reasonably priced.

Perfect place to stay one night
Reviewed By chrachtJust one night in this very clean place. Nothing special but absolutely min covered: very clean, big bed, parking and close to city center. Small issue with English but all has been finally managed, we had a good price 60euro. Interesting town center. Simple breakfast but good enough

The food is excellent, we never eat in the hotel restaurant but after our first dinner we decided to book another night!!! The family visited with us and we're very interested in the purpose of our visit which was to find family who never moved to America . We will stay here again! Rooms were clean and big enough, we weren't in them except to sleep.

So much potential
Reviewed By Bill SWe arrived to a pleasant looking place, well furnished, and clean. No one was at the desk. Half hour of ringing bells and pushing buttons until a gal shows up. We reserved, and paid, for this room four months ago, and ended up on the third level, furthest from anything. The steps are steep, very steep, and we had no wi fi. Maybe they figured the quiet was most beneficial. It was quiet, the bed was comfortable, good shower, all in all nice facilities. But every time we needed something, we waited.... And waited.... And waited. Breakfast was the same, noted as starting at 7:00 am. We arrived at 7:15 and waited another half hour, with others, for someone to show up with food. It's a nice place if you don't need any assistance. But their customer service needs a major overhaul.

Reviewed By Flughase_11Every 5 years our family plans a family reunion at the place where the roots of the family began, which was Mühlhausen/Thür. 5 years ago this hotel was a catastrophe and we decided only to go back to this hotel as it is the only one which can cater a big group in this area. This year we were very much surprised about the positive improvement of the service in general and the kitchen. It was like day and night from the former and even earlier experiences. Ok the hardware (Hotel itself has not much charm (Hardware), but the rooms are clean and quite big. The hardware itself is one part, but the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and the kitchen is another part, which counts as well 50% of an hotel rating. Therefore my big compliment to this 1000% improvement of the friendliness and professionalism of the employees and the quality of the kitchen. We have selected a buffet with regional dishes and surprisingly it was well done and tasty. Also the breakfast buffet has improved quite heavily. I do hope they keep this standard and even improve a little bit more, than it will be a pleasure to look forward to a further stay with the next family reunion.

Lovely hotel, great location, wonderful staff
Reviewed By Jo-SfhlThis was our 2nd stay at Weidenmuhle. It's a very bright, friendly and cheerful hotel. We arrived very late but the owner was waiting for us with keys and a smile . The rooms are SPOTLESSLY clean and very spacious with comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The breakfast offered is very fresh with much more than the usual choice of continental meats etc. It's worth a visit just for a walk around the beautiful garden. Absolutely love this hotel and will stay again.

Das Frühstück war zwar nicht so üppig wie wahrscheinlich in einem 4 Sterne Hotel, dafür war es aber liebevoll zubereitet- und präsentiert. Das Betreiberehepaar sympathisch. Der Wlanempfang war zeitweise auf dem Zimmer etwas schwach aber braucht man Wlan wirklich im Urlaub? Und auch hier ein Tipp von mir. Über z.B. Booking ein Zimmer suchen und direkt beim Anbieter den Preis erfragen, zumeist lässt sich dann ein kleiner Preisnachlass erhandeln. Adams also ganz klar eine Empfehlung von mir.

Reviewed By PublicTransportFanFriendly welcome, perfect little flat and balcony, convenient for train, shops and old town. We would definitely go back there any time! Everything was top quality and the balcony was excellent for breakfast and dinner, after the sun had moved round.

Reviewed By Waldemar_SchneiderPrier to arrival make sure to contact the owner in order to find out the code for entrance. Don't get puzzled if the mirror in bathroom will heat on its own, the dishwasher requires special treatment ;-) Rely on undisturbed stay close to city areas.
