Cozy place with delicious food
Reviewed By Leon CWe had dinner here after a long hike around the saksische schweiz. The food was very delicious and the staff was super friendly. We had a nice place at the window with a view over the river. The hotel looks very cozy overall and is situated very close to the beautiful Bastei and the Königstein fortress.

Enjoy wonderful days directly at the Elbe. Our house is located on the outskirts of Königstein with a view of the lily stone, the king of the table mountains. On the "Bomätscher" the Elberadweg leads directly to the Elbe-Freizeitland Königstein - a pleasure for the whole family. Spend your stay in one of 9 double rooms or one of the ten family rooms with a balcony or terrace, which point towards the Elbe. The rooms are equipped with a double bed and a smaller separate children's room with a double bed. They have a bathroom with shower and WC, sitting area and TV. Our restaurant with a wonderful Elb-terrace invites you to lunch and dinner or a small snack for between, with a children's menu. In the summer, barbecue ceremonies are organized regularly.
A Pension Par Excellence
Reviewed By Katie BWe arrived in a camper at Konigstein late one evening. There was no way I was staying at the Camping site next door. So I went into this charming Pension and asked for a room for the night.....but no climbing stairs. The ladies who were busy serving dinner, were hesitant at first....but later said they could give me a room on the ground floor but a little ways off. The room was a delight. Large and very clean. The bathroom was almost as large.and to step out into the garden was a wesome.. The river Elbe flowing past and the trees just changing colours getting ready for winter, Breakfast was included in the room rate and it was just too much for my little Indian stomach.The ladies who manned the reception and dining room were so very friendly, always smiling and ready to help.Stayed here for 2 nights and Oh to go back there again hopefully some day..

Die Famile Kimmel als Gastgeber hat uns zudem super betreut, so dass wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt haben.

Reviewed By 976fran_oisedWe stayed for a week in July with a group of hikers from Belgium. The place is beautiful as well as the area. The hotel is of a good standard and the staff very nice. A room was reserved for our group which was a bit noisy during meals. The bedding is very comfortable and the rooms are clean and cleaned daily. Soap and shampoo dispensers as well as tissue box are available. We have eaten well. The wine list is significant. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. Just a little note, the beds are not separable, they are 2 separate mattresses but that was not an issue for us. The terrace is beautiful with brand new furniture. Excellent address to be recommended

Reviewed By B887JLmorgandJ'y ai séjourné une nuit et je n'y retournerai pas, d'une part, le prix est très élevé, et à cela, il faut rajouter les douches payantes (avec un tarif élevé). Il n'y avait pas d'électricité, le ménage est en frais supplémentaire (obligatoire), de même pour les draps. Le cadre est très bruyant avec des trains de marchandise très régulièrement. Marque de moisissure sur le matelas. L'accueil est très mauvais et les gérants se permettent de se moquer des étrangers en pensant qu'il ne comprenne pas l'allemand.

Honest, if a bit basic

Friendly and well-meaning staff but a bit challenged when busy in the restaurant. Our room (room 4) was a bit small but clean and OK. The bathroom was also small but it worked. Breakfast was in the building across the yard and was surprisingly good in a very nice breakfast room. The train tracks are close by and the Sachsenstübel provide ear plugs for you. But we didn't need them – despite having the window open at night. Sure, the trains pass by but they are quickly gone and we did not find it a problem. I give this place three stars because it is quite basic, but our experience was OK. – Just don't expect too much in the way of "luxury".
