Reviewed By TonyInParisJolie hotel! Just outside the center of Houlgate, in the green, but not far from the beach. We had a very nice room with two queen size beds, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent. Food and service were great! The best quality/price ratio on the "cote fleurie" in Normandy!

A well equipped apartment
Reviewed By LG2023Staff were great helped when we needed (speak good english), apartment was nice, clean, well equipped and comfortable, quiet in the evenings. The location is VERY VERY PRETTY, France is a large and beautiful country with open spaces - this stood out to us, coming from NL. The road near the facility was very narrow and can be difficult when other cars come from the opposite direction. My only recommendation to the hotel, is to open the fitness room earlier (maybe 06:00 or 07:00, so people can train early in the morning. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay - we love Normandy.

Classic and comfortable French style on one of the nicest parts of the Fleurie Coast
Reviewed By Sc6874We spent a first rate long weekend here in September 2018. This is an hotel with considerable character and charm, only a three minute walk from Houlgate's impressive sandy beach, as well as the centre of town with its wide choice of restaurants. Set in a former 19th century villa, the owners have sensibly retained its original style and decor. We received a very warm welcome and were very well looked after throughout our stay: the French breakfasts were especially well done. Our room was quite small but comfortable and immaculately maintained: the bathroom was excellent. Visitors by car should note that there is only limited parking in the hotel grounds, (for which a charge is made), but there is street parking in the immediate vicinity. More generally, the classic style of the hotel building includes a magnificent, but quite steep, staircase. We did not find this a problem, but would be guests who find stairs hard work might be advised to ask for a first floor room. But, in the round, the hotel has all the right ingredients for an enjoyable visit, especially if you like traditional French style.

We are located in Houlgate, 50 meters away from the beach and 10 minutes walk from the town center. There is a lot to visit around: typical villages in the countyside, local markets, Dday beaches, historical villas... Come and meet our team !
July stay
Reviewed By Rebecca SWe stayed here in July for 4 nights. The rooms were cramped and dirty, and we found mouldy food in the wardrobe. The first night we stayed the showers were freezing, but thankfully after that they were hot, however you couldn't change the temperature. The floor was filthy. Some nights the food was okay, but some nights the food was not very nice. On the other hand, staff were nice and the beach was a minutes walk away. Also, the gardens were nice. Overall, would not go back to this hostel.

Almost a Hotel to yourself

Our Booking stated Check In was from 1730hrs, which we thought might be flexible and arrived at 1530hrs as weather was bad and Houlgate was deserted . However the Hotel was closed. We started to panic and contacted Booking.Com who managed to reach the Owner who arrived promptly, showed us to our room, and advised entry code. Then left us to it, and unfortunately did not leave WiFi code. So we were the only people in the hotel with just the access to our room. The room was large,included Bunkbeds, was clean with typically french decor. We did have the Continental Breakfast which was basic but acceptable and he lady who served it was very friendly and helpful in spite of limited knowledge of English. Unfortunately the Restaurant was closed which was true of many of the Restaurants in Houlgate, Overall it was an unusual experience, although the hotel was perfectly acceptable, with great location and I suspect in season would be a a very good choice, especially if travelling with small children

Reviewed By Yates26Just popped in @ 5pm & got a decent room at good price w/ breakfast. Thai lady & son were very nice. Gave me a bottle of cold water & moved her personal car so I could park in area with little spots. Breakfast was excellent! Only a few blocks from the Beach
