A great weekend stay
Reviewed By Desire PWe had a wonderful weekend at this hotel. We stayed in a little bungalow which was equipped with everything you could possible need to cater for yourself. Microwave, fridge, kettle - the works. The bungalow was nestled between trees and so was naturally beautifully cool in spite of high temperatures. Breakfasts were included in the price and served in the hotel dining area. We chose to have ours outdoors as the weather was wonderful and the hotel is surrounded by beautiful trees. We had our dinner in the hotel on Saturday and we chose to have a pub meal. The food was tasty and well prepared. The best thing about our stay was the friendliness of the staff. Thank you for making our stay even more pleasant. There was a guard walking around during the night which made us feel safe. Be careful of leaving food outside on your little porch as the monkeys are mischievous and tried to help themselves to our cake. When we came out just in time, they moved away but still stayed around just in case we would leave them something. They were not threatening and a delight to watch. Hopefully tourists will not feed them as this would change their behaviour.

Away with the Fairies is a backpacker hostel with one of the best views in the country from our garden. We have all sorts of accommodation ranging from En-suites to Self Catering cottage, doubles, twins, dorms and camping. The hiking trails through Auckland Nature reserve start and finish in our back garden. On the hikes you can see ancient forests and endless waterfalls. Our atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with nature and views what we are all about.

Reviewed By NickyShaw91Definitely worth the stay even if it’s just to utilize the “world famous bathtub with a view”. Roos was really cute and cozy with a fire ready and waiting as you arrive. When we arrived we were greeted with the friendliest hostess known to man. Amazing hiking trails start from the venue. Would recommend visiting.

Reviewed By shannawellsWe had a amazing and extremely relaxing trip :) was absolutely beautiful. The braai setting was in the perfect location, surrounded by the trees. Although it was runny, we were still able to braai, due to the under cover facilities.

Revisited honeymoon!
Reviewed By Sightseer17472764819We stayed at this hotel 50 years ago for our honeymoon and decided to do the same trip again. We specifically wanted to stay again at this lovely Inn. We stayed in River Suite 1, Grande Elm Suite. What lovely spacious rooms. We had a beautiful bathroom, an old vintage bath, shower big enough for two people, own sitting room with a fire place, lovely big room and an extra large bed. Our patio was secluded with a view of the river and you could listen to the flow of the water...I could sit there all day! The gardens are lovely and there is a big pool, though we just went for walks. The staff made us feel very welcome and even surprised us with champagne, flowers and Belgian chocolates made in Hogsback (we went to get more!). The food at the hotel was lovely. The hotel is centrally located and yet part of a lovely big garden and flowing river.
