It was my wife's birthday and they made a lovely gesture of a card and chocolates, thank you so much. The room (Estate room) was fantastic, bath in the main bedroom, separate bathroom, plenty of space. Warm welcoming atmosphere throughout. the staff were excellent, friendly and provided great service, food excellent and service too, a credit to the whole set up. Will return for another visit without doubt. Thank you once again. Mr & Mrs K.

Lovely location, spotlessly clean, attentive and friendly management

Stayed for two nights just before Jubilee weekend in June. Room was spotless as was the en suite. Breakfast choices to suit every palate and dietary preference. Starters e.g. cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad etc were at our table when we came down for breakfast and main courses were served soon after along with a selection of toast. Additional toast and tea/coffee/juice etc were readily offered. The owner Glenn greeted us on arrival at the hotel and served breakfast. Friendly, amiable and engaging. TV's need updating but a minor point - after all, you don't go to the Dales to watch telly! Highly recommend this place, keenly priced having researched the competition. Ideal location in the centre of the village.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. We stayed here for the whisky tasting package for my husband’s birthday. It was a great experience all round. Food was excellent. The whisky tasting was brilliant, the host was informative but not too much so and we tried plenty! Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We also really enjoyed spending time in the library with pool table. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Enjoyable stay in the heart of Hawes

Booked this well in advance for the Jubilee bank holiday and had there been other options - in all honesty this probably wouldn’t have been our first choice but it delivers exactly what it says on the tin - Dales pub with rooms . The room was more basic than we’d normally go for but it was a good size, everything was super clean , we had a decent view up the Main Street and to the hills beyond and it met our needs fine. We were asked to order-order breakfast, no problem with that and it was very good . Well cooked good quality ingredients were a great start to our walking days . Staff were all friendly and welcoming . Would we return ? Yes we would , lots of positives here .

Comfortable, spacious room with modern bathroom and great bed!

Staying at the White Hart meant that we benefited from a comfortable bed and great bathroom at the beginning and end of 4 days of walking the Herriot Way. Aside from the good rooms, we also enjoyed an excellent breakfast both days. The hotel was very happy to store our bags of spare clothes while we were away and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The view of the church was lovely. One down side was that the early morning traffic rumbled up the cobbled street. I coped, but you might want to ask for a room away from Main Street if you like silence.

It’s never nice to write a poor review however I do feel this one is required. We arrived at this pub after booking prior to our visit, after a 20k plus walk up a peak we was so excited to eat here… when you’ve burnt over 2,000 calories this pub looked and seemed the perfect place for a lovely, hearty Yorkshire meal! We was taken to our seat was was in the back area (not the pub) which I was quite happy about as it’s not just a “pub grub” and more of a nice sit down meal in a restaurant even if it was like a old people home, covered with privacy boards. We had to go to the bar to order which I did find quite disappointing. However this wasn’t a big issue we was Starving… ordered food and it came swiftly no issues at all! The starters arrived, pate and some soup… the soup was actually quite nice but nothing to rave about just a bog standard soup with some bread which looked like the bread you get on a budget airline… when I moved the soup after eating most of it there was a matted hair under the napkin! I didn’t want to make a scene at people behind us seemed to be enjoying there meal working in catering myself this isn’t something that needs shouting! The waiter was lovely and took it away no hassle… This then went into the kitchen area where you could hear the staff loudly discussing this! And then laughing and joking which isn’t really ideal… nor professional. Nothing was said about this situation, no apology no one came to the table to address? Why? The rest came our pie and lasagne and it was all very basic….!! Nothing at all special or amazing about this bog standard food at above average prices. This is the only place i have ever taken any food back, when I got the bill (again going to bar for this) I said to bar guy, I wasn’t happy paying for the soup he asked why…. (I thought this would of been addressed) clearly not and again I was left in a position at the bar to discuss the hair in front of other diners! I advised I wasn’t happy about paying for the soup to which I was asked “I’m guessing you didn’t eat it all then” I think that comment is disgusting, i found the hair whist eating the meal if I didn’t find that under the napkin i would of probably eat it all not been aware!! Regardless if I found the hair on the last mouthful my point as a catering person myself is to address this as a training issue professionally and use this as feedback to improve, not argue. By far the worst meal iv ever eaten in the dales topped off with awful customer service. I wasn’t going to post the pictures if addressed correctly… but if that can’t be done other diners deserve to know this.
