Fantastic service, sunsets, bed quality, and room size …

This is one of those Hotels that surprises you and you always return. Not a new Hotel but that’s not important. The rooms are decorated with modern furniture and finishing touches, are large, spotless, bright and airy. It was a pleasure to open the door and see the interior. Jacqui delivers service with a warm genuine smile and instinctively knew which information. I might be wanting at check in. Her knowledge of the local area is fantastic, and all of her recommendations were wonderful. The bed quality is superb as are the sheets and pillows. There is an electric blanket too which was a nice touch for the cooler nights. There is a kitchen fully stocked with everything you would need to make a meal. And if you don’t feel like cooking or driving there is a lovely restaurant on the lower level that serves breakfast and dinner From Thursday over the weekend, closed early in the week though. Good base to enjoy McLaren Vale wineries, easy drive. All rooms face West and the ocean is just across the road, and being on the 1st floor, I very much enjoyed at the end of each day watching the sun go down over the water, just gorgeous. Enjoyed 3 nights here so much I extended for a further 3, thanks Jacqui for a lovely visit :).

Good Location & Comfortable

Reviewed By Petitewave

Location is wonderful, close to the centre of the town and many wineries. As it’s the last minute booking, we got the last unit left which is an inter-connected double bedroom unit, it got two sets of everything with a shared shower and toilet. Each room is quite large with beds, table & chairs, TV, fridge, microwave, kettle, plates and bowls, etc. most of things a traveler needs. Plunger and instant coffee, fresh milk, tea bags and biscuits are provided. It's nothing fancy at this place but it’s practical and clean, as well as comfortable. BTW, Shower water is good with plenty pressure. The TV in the room is rather small, with my eye sight, I won't be able to watch it from bed. But I'm not there to watch TV, so it's no drama.

The boys in the group went off golfing with 5 carts (husband recommends getting a cart for this course) while us ladies staying on the clubroom balcony. We had an amazing time, again service from the restaurant wast great, friendly and attentive. We were also lucky enough to have our own two massage ladies provide exceptional relaxing masssages! BLISS!! The rooms we stayed in were very clean and had amazing sunset views over the golf course. Dinner in the restaurant at night was also great fun with amazing food and drinks. Untidy and not clean Unit and Park

Reviewed By Jacinta B

We stayed in a cabin in the park. The couch was so dirty the arm rests were black and it sunk when you sat in it, hence we only sat in it once. The fire alarm wasn't connected to the ceiling in the kitchen area. The oven was in a cavity that was very in need of attention. The outside was covered in cobwebs, they need to sweep the outside of the cabins to clean away the cob webs. When you pay good money you expect to have a very clean cabin.

Nice clean and comfortable rooms, food a little expensive

Reviewed By Twowellls123

Rooms were comfortable, although shower room was rather tiny. Breakfast was excellent, however I feel the dinner experience was a little ordinary. Meals were on the expensive side and the rump steak I had was not worth $30. Windows could do with double glazing, maybe that is why we were supplied with ear plugs

This worn-out place really needs a complete renovation and much better service

Reviewed By Bobster1985

First let me tell the positive points of this hotel - it's location is good and it's fairly cheap. But you get what you pay for, and this place is in sad condition. Everything is out-of-date and frankly shabby. It could be a lovely place because of its history but it needs a top-to-bottom overhaul to bring it up to standards. When I arrived the manager casually told me my room was on the second floor, and didn't ask if I needed help with my bags (I'm 66 years old and would have appreciated some help). I had booked the smallest room and wasn't expecting much based on the photos, but even so I was disappointed. There was one - just one - electrical outlet in the entire room, so everything was plugged into it, including the refrigerator, heater, TV, etc. During the night I noticed the room was getting a little cold, and discovered that the heater wasn't generating heat any more. In fact everything except the two overhead lights no longer worked. Since it was very late I didn't bother calling the service number given to me (the front desk closed around 6 pm) but reported the power outage to the manager when I checked out in the morning. Apparently a fuse to my room blew, not surprising given the outdated wiring and the number of appliances plugged into a single outlet. The manager wasn't particularly conciliatory, and didn't offer any discount to make up for the inconvenience. I guess it was to be expected because nothing about this hotel measured up. They're planning on building a brand-new modern wing next to the hotel next year, so I'm guessing they're saving all their resources for that project and just doing the bare minimum of upkeep with the existing hotel. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.
