Chose the Mountain Lodge room. Had a lovely stay! Room was very clean. Bed was quite comfortable. Appreciated having a fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. Had coffee on the porch each morning, enjoying the lovely grounds and birds. Easy walk to town on sidewalk, where there were several restaurants and a brewery. Frank made sure everything was to our liking. Would definitely stay again.

the room looks clean, the bath has tub, the fridge has a freezer compartment which is good, but we are 4 people, only has 3 sets of towels, and among them, only 1 big towel is ok, the other 2 are very thin and rough. the power of the shower is not strong enough, the wifi has no password which may be not vert safe? and the wifi signal is weak, can't see program using my tablet. The breakfast is very basic and has very limited choice, no milk, only apply juice, no yogurt. But as it is rather cheap, so can't expect too much. it's also located near to Tallulah Gorge state park.

Room was satisfactory. WiFi did not work. Hotel is in a great location with great restaurants nearby. There is lots to do in the area, but I did not get a chance to check it out as I was there to visit with family.

I booked this hotel for my wife who was there on business. Upon check-in the lady at the front made sure to be clear my wife was to have no men coming in and out so much so my wife had to tell her she was there working and not a working girl and that she was just down right rude and disrespectful. We will not be back for any reason and do not recommend any establishment that acts like this toward its guest.

This was our first and not the last stay at the White Birch Inn. We were in town to shop at Antique Appliances, another great downtown Clayton business. The fit and finish of this Inn is the mark of tastefulness of the owner. Each room is a little different but the hospitality is consistent. The floors creak that seem to tell the history of this place, white birch bark throughout, our antique armoire had a shipping tag destination in France. The Inn is charming yet filled with history, missing from a modern hotel. The wine and cheese hour, the private bar, comfortable seating throughout, nightly turn down service, and a breakfast that exceeded any expectations are old world standards. The staff quickly becomes your friends and are always available. Explore Clayton, Rabun County and stay at the White Birch Inn.

Special hosts

The host couple Eli and Marlon go out of their way to make you feel special. They really understand the meaning of delight the customer. The breakfast food is superb. The wine on the deck in evening. Offering to carry luggage. They really know the area making good recommendations. And they’ve only been the owners since December. They are putting much work into this old Inn and it shows ; with more planned. The room was comfortable and clean. The location is only a short distance from main road. It is quiet and certainly quaint. We will return again, hopefully in the fall.

Far from resort. I'd stay anywhere else.

Reviewed By brittanyaleece

I try to review all of our travel, the good and the bad. This was bad. Like, terrible and we would NOT recommend. Had I spent money to stay here with my husband I'd have probably cried. It was a work-related trip and my coworker and I made jokes the entire stay to keep the mood lighter. For starters it should not be called a resort... it isn't much more than a roadside motel. It is SO old and dated and in desperate need of TLC. I would recommend staying anywhere else. I could go on and on into more detail but I won't. I think I'd have rather camped in a tent. I felt so gross. Couldn't wait to get home and shower and wash everything I had. People who rated it remotely high and recommend either didn't actually stay and maybe just golfed, work there, or are just blind. :-(

Horrible, rude, threatened to call the law on me for having family visit, MOLDED FOOD IN MICROWAVE

Reviewed By 642renaeb

Checked in for the night and told front desk my sister would be stopping by for a little while. Got a call from the front desk threatening to call the law saying I had multiple people coming in and out. Had my sister leave to avoid the cops and went to heat up some leftover pizza before bed and THIS was in the microwave. Owners wife was rude and very disrespectful even after I explained that my sister was gone she still accused and cussed me saying I had people in my room.
