Reviewed By nicholasfI7659MOThe experience which sticks most in our memories is nearly losing our passports; they fell out of a pocket, while we were leaving. Luckily the lady who checked us out spotted this and brought these to our car. That stands for all our contacts with Hotel Mon's staff; alert, helpful, efficient and friendly. Also fluent English speakers. The gin and tonics we enjoyed in the superbly designed lounge overlooking the monastery are the next most memorable items: never have we seen such large/heavy goblets, containing about twice the normal contents. Only one of those necessary before dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were very good: for breakfast, full marks for frying eggs to order, and providing freshly squeezed orange juice and Cava. The standards are very high in this hotel, as shown by the care and attention, and training of the staff. Just a couple of niggles; the restaurant was not open at lunchtime, and we couldn't get a twin room with an easy to access shower; we were offered such a room, but it was fully equipped for mobility impaired guests, which we didn't need/want. The shower in the bath was what we got instead. In praise of the room, it was modern, spacious and comfortable: plenty of wardrobe space.

Reviewed By jhonk718I was inspired by this place, the house is so amazing inside, and the backyard garden with barbecue was a lot of fun. The owner is a friendly guy, he offered me wine and meat from local farms. I spent 3 days in this house, I really liked it, and I will definitely come back here again. P.S. the nature is stunning.

A small example, I rang reception, which is not continually manned, and within seconds the staff member, who had missed the call came to my door; some smart software, but also alertness. Another example, when I inquired about using the (indoor) pool, that same staff member brought a towel and took me to the pool. It's not large but it is heated. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom equipped with an excellent shower. The food in the restaurant, and the service, was top drawer. I liked the fact that the breakfast was Catalan. I would be happy to return here.

Awarded first prize in Responsible tourism in 2013, we started by restoring the 13th-16th century masia in 1997, where we lived until 2016, to its former glory, have introduced renewable energy in the form of solar panels and a wind generator, and are currently running the cattle farm and co-managing the area of outstanding natural beauty with the trust: Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera. We finished our new wing (May 2013) and offer from that moment simple rural comfort and delicious breakfasts. We are open nearly all year round and are committed to keeping the countryside beautiful and visitable, keeping small villages alive, employing local residents and to enhancing and supporting animal welfare.

L’avenc is set in a stunning location and an ideal spot if you are looking for peace and tranquility although if you are active there are some great walks. The hotel is tastefully decorated and very light and open. The food is excellent and the staff very attentive and helpful. We had a studio apartment which was fully equipped which allowed us to cook for ourselves a few times. The rooms are spotless and really my only complaint is the quality of the pillows!

Top notch motel, modern, quiet, clean
Reviewed By jfnelson61I like this hotel and restaurant. It's clean, tidy, modern, well kept and reasonably priced. It's not a vacation hotel/resort, more like a motel. Easy to get to, and it has its own parking. The restaurant serves excellent dinners, the menu has some nice Catalonian specialties, good house wine. I stayed here last year for Rider1000 (a motorcycle event) and again this year, it was great to park the bike, sit back and have a beer on the terrace before dinner. It's set well back from the road so it's peaceful and quiet.

Comfortable Stop in a Catalan town
Reviewed By elmstrasseI arrived in the afternoon, having walked from Sant Pau, about 16km away, and managing to get lost on the way into the town. However, I was rescued by a student who drove me there. I had stayed there over 10 years ago, and the place had been much renovated. The old restaurant, reminiscent of the last days of the caudillo, had been replaced by a small but stylish addition to the café. The rooms had been renovated and, while small and not ornate, were very comfortable. Reception was professional and friendly, much as I have come to expect in Spain and Catalonia. The hotel is about 10-15 minutes on foot from the plaza.

Reviewed By CaledonianneSlightly unusual welcome in that in mid-afternoon I had to call and wait for someone to come and open up for me, but once that hurdle was overcome I found I had a large, simple but comfortable room with a nice, big bathroom. I suspected at first I was the only guest (the restaurant was closed on my first night), but the scene was lively enough in the bright, cheerful bar when I went down for breakfast the next day. I enjoyed the riverside position, and subsequently had both a good salad lunch and a simple but tasty in dinner in the restaurant, which is called La Coca del Ter. At the price charged I would happily stay again.

Located in the center of Manlleu, 5 minutes from Vic, currently celebrating the centenary, always in the same family ownership. With 17 rooms, we are a small family hotel ideal for business visitors to enjoy sightseeing in Osona or proximity and good communications in the neighboring districts of Ripolles i La Garrotxa.

Good breakfast, you can make your own freshly squeezed orange juice. Very good coffee as well. The restaurant for lunch or dinner is okay, but there are much better options to eat in the rest of Manlleu. There is a big room on the ground floor that can be rented for parties with dinner. If your room is above them there will be noise. The staff informed us though. It is a bit unfortunate that both the big room and some of the hotel rooms are so close together. The wifi works well during the day, but it goes much slower when a lot of hotel guests use it at the same time (during the evenings). I wouldn’t mind spending the night here again.

In a privileged environment, Cal Carulla has all kind of comforts and quality facilities with garden and outdoor pool, games room, sensations heated pool and horses. Each country cottage is fully equipped and decorated with rustic style and sophisticated at the same time, and we have taken care of even the smallest details: fireplace, stone walls, wooden beams and antique furniture. Comfort and enjoyment are more than guaranteed! Cal Carulla is the perfect choice for families, couples and groups looking for relaxing experiences, a break and to reconnect with the nature.
Awesome countryside stay

From the very nice design of the rooms, to the friendly owners, awesome pool and underground spa, to the very picturesque village with only 24 inhabitants and their very cozy restaurant. Perfect to go here with your family or a group of friends. We stayed here with our four months daughter, and our close friends. Bring your own food for breakfast, BBQs, and drinks is recommended as well. The surroundings are very beautiful, perfect for a bicycle trip or walk. Highly recommended, especially if you need a very relaxed break.
