Casa Mosului Guesthouse opened in 2008. It was built in a thousand year old village, full of stories about colorful characters. The house is made out of wood and rock, decorated with authentic, old items, from the Fagaras Valley. We are not a big hotel and our guests become our friends quickly. Mosu, well, he has, as you would expect, white hair. He is kind and attentive with all the people coming to his house. We have five big and sunny rooms, with shiny floors and soft beds, ideal for lazy afternoons and silent nights. You reach them by climbing an original staircase made out of logs from the nearby woods. In the living room, near the fireplace, we have a big table, usually full of all the delicacies of the region, carefully cooked by aunt Mariana. We expect you with a blooming garden, from spring to autumn, where, in the evening you can stay for one more glass of wine or even make your own barbecue. If you are not in the mood for drinking and dining, you can just listen to the crickets, hidden in the grass. In winter time our garden hosts, free of charge, as much snowmen you can build.
Unpleasant second interaction with the staff
Reviewed By Mihai MSoon after booking two double rooms I received a message that one of the rooms "allocated" to me had twin beds instead of a double bed. I ended up with my reservation being canceled after several messages and phone calls with the property. The staff was unfriendly and unwilling to hear any complains from my side.

An absolutely amazing place!

To start with, the host Florin is a fantastic guy who helped me a lot to find the nice spots around and also shared a bit of the Romanian culture. Plus the room was very comfortable, large, with a nice bed and excellent shower. Plus the fact that is so close to Balea Lake and Waterfall, in a village right at the famous road. I strongly recommend this place!

Terrible, absolutely terrible service

We arrived in Cartisoara in the afternoon and were very hungry, so my husband called Casa Duse to make sure that they have a restaurant and that we won't walk almost a mile for nothing. They confirmed they had a restaurant, so we went there for dinner. Upon our arrival, there were 2 couples at a table, but no waiter in sight, so my husband went to ask if someone could come and take our order. But, to his surprise, the lady refused to serve us because they were waiting for a very large group of people and they were concentrating all their resources on feeding such group. To make matters worse, she also asked my husband how many persons were in our group, to which my husband told her there were only two. I guess she would have made an effort if there had been a larger amount of money involved. If your restaurant is not open, why lie about it and make us come for nothing? Money talks comes to mind...

In ziua plecarii m-au sunat pentru confirmare insa nu au fost de acord cu ora de sosire ( plecând dupa job..era imposibil sa ajungem la ora 19!! Desi nimeni nu ne-a intrebat sau spus de acest impediment când am facut rezervarea). Din acest motiv, ne-au lasat cu ochii in soare, fara cazare , cu cateva ore inainte de plecare. O lipsa de respect incredibila din partea doamnei..eu inteleg ca multa lume este neserioasa, insa ar trebui sa ia avans din timp si sa se asigure ca lumea vine..nu sa anuleze tot cu cateva ore inainte. Nu va recomand!! I do not recommend. The owner cancelled the reservation with few hours before booking just because we were not able to arrive until 19:00. We made the reservation on the phone, saw we did not saw this rule!! They should have told us this during our conversation when the booking was done!! We were not able to found any other place to stay in such a short notice, so out weekend was ruined! The owner is very rude!!

Cozy place with great hosts
Reviewed By kelemenorsiWe stayed 4 nights and it was a nice experience. The rooms are nice and clean. There is a big kitchen and dining area and a nice garden with 4 tables to sit outside on the terrace. There are rooms with shared bathrooms, but all in all it is a good place to stay

Reviewed By LucretiaD123Ich und mein Partner haben spontan eine Unterkunft gesucht und haben bei Floare de Colt nachgefragt.Uns hat es gut gefallen, der Hof war sehr gepflegt und einladend, vor allem wegen dem Traubenduft vom Hof.Wir haben eine Übernachtung gesucht im September 2019.Gastgeberin und eingestellte sind uns sehr entgegen gekommen, haben uns bei der Unklarheiten oder Fragen sehr geholfen und für uns haben die sehr ehrlich und autenthisch gewirkt. Die ,,extra,,Küchen im Gebäude haben uns nicht gestört, die Küchen sind voll ausgestattet mit Geschirr und Herd.Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es auch gleich in der Nähe. Obwohl das Haus an der Hauptstrasse liegt, ist ganz ruhig am spät Abend. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, Bett ist etwa zu hart für mein Geschmack. Wir würden gerne wieder buchen bei diese Familie!

Reviewed By Chloe SIts all rather odd, which is the best way I can describe this place. We travelled as a group of 6. Positives are its location - only 6km away from cable car up the Transfagarasan and at the bottom of the main road leading up to the top (note that if you want to drive all the way up to the peak, a part of the road is seasonal). Also, our room had a balcony which apart from being covered in dead insects was lovely to sit on with a glass of wine and listen and watch the river and birds. Its also nice to listen to the river whilst falling asleep. The staff were friendly too but I don't think they could speak much English as I only heard them communicate in Romanian (I may be mistaken) and the food was absolutely delicious. There is somewhere to park but not set spaces which makes me feel like it will be an issue on season. Negatives was that the food was cold which I will elaborate on below. Also, I don't do well with insects (especially spiders) and there were a few in the bathroom (bathroom was clean though althogh lots of cobwebs but I am not including this in my rating as it's a personal phobia but thought others with the same should know). There was no shower gel just a plastic sachet of shampoo. The bed was made without a duvet with a cushion not a pillow and a hard spring mattress. There was a number of odd moments: we were asked what time we wanted dinner and had to pre-order as the owner is also the chef. We requested dinner at 7pm and when we arrived at 7 on the dot we found our food on the table. Whilst it was delicious, three of our dinners were stone cold and had clearly been laid out a while. There seemed to be no other guests in the property (in credit it was off season)which added a bit of a spooky factor as it felt like the property was only open to accommodate us. There was also only one member of staff and the owner who was also the chef therefore we were in an empty restaurant with no ambience. The bed was made up with a small throw and cushions but not the duvet which was in the wardrobe. The duvet transpired to be too small for the bed in all of our rooms, not even reaching the edges of the bed and was a large single duvet rather than a double. There was a much thicker blanket also in the wardrobe. The heating comes on at random times and you can't personally control it which made me feel like an icecube at times even though it was June. Our shower door wouldn't completely shut. The couple who last occupied our room had taken the only key with them. A temporary lock was put in place which didn't work correctly from the outside. Breakfast was the same as dinner. We said we would like to eat at 8am and when we arrived the food was laid out but was stone cold (cold eggs are never good). I probably wouldn't return. It's good for a one night stop off season but not longer. Accomodation is limited in the area but I would recommend finding somewhere a bit further out and then driving to the cable car or top of the road.
