Great base for exploring; not too far from downtown

The pool was nice and our triple bedroom (2 single beds and 1 queen bed) had a good temperature and a comfortable (and functional) bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and had quite a few options. The pool bar was OK; staff was not always around and drinks could be more elaborate. The only down for me was the size of single beds. But with a lot of sightseeing/adventures to do, I just crashed every night! The hotel also has a tour company on site, which was very helpful and practical. They helped us hire a wonderful driver (Adão). I'd definitely go back!

Impossible to rest here

It is simply impossible to sleep after 7am, since there is a lot of noise on corridors, other rooms and facilities. People talk loud while passing our door, I can hear furniture moving on other rooms as housekeeping starts to work and noises from the restaurant, among other. As we like to sleep comfortably, I must say I'm truly disgusted by this awful place. I tried to complain about the noise and asked for another room. I was ignored.

Reviewed By Victoria PWe spent two nights here. It's not luxurious but clean and functional with friendly staff. You can hire towels for your visits to the Rio Prato. Ample breakfast with fresh fruit and local fare. Wi-fi signal poor due to r restriction of local network. Situated near the centre of town which makes finding places to eat and drink easy. Staff will recommend.

Disappointed
Reviewed By mark mAfter a travel snafu, I was able to call the hotel to discuss a late arrival so that they would not cancel my reservation, which had to be entirely prepaid. The gentleman at the desk was very polite and accommodating. Upon arrival, however, the room was uninhabitable due to an extremely strong smell of mildew that was too strong to deal with, and no sheets or bedding in the room. With no other rooms available to solve the issue, there was no choice but to move to a different property. The staff was unwilling to assist in discounting or refunding the unused nights, which was very disappointing. While it may have many charming features, I implore anyone considering to look beyond the $20/night savings versus some of the other options and look at other locations. Ended up at Surucua, and could not be happier with the property. This location could be fine with some simple adjustments to policies and a better focus on ensuring a clean, comfortable stay. When it's such a limited market, it's just my opinion, but the hotel might not feel the pressure to bring its standards up. I know the owner reads and responds to the reviews, so hopefully she can train her team better to anticipate the potential issues and prevent them, so that there is not a disappointment to begin, and then a further disappointment when the problem cannot be solved due to tight space or policy. I would gladly pay $10 more per night if that is the cost of hiring better housekeeping staff, or re-investing in upgrades to the property.

Reviewed By htl_9988I stayed at Muito Bonito as part of a group tour. The bathroom, particularly the shower, was not clean on arrival. We booked activities through the tour operator. They failed to tell us there would be a 6% change to pay by credit card until after we’d taken part in the tour. I felt this was very misleading and disingenuous. The price of tours through this operator is high so be aware when considering staying here.

A long walk to the center
Reviewed By 904agnescVery nice and quiet lodge on the outskirts of Bonito. I was here 7 years ago and nothing has changed - the place is kept in mink condition ! Breakfast is huge and delicious. It will get you through most of the day ! Only downside is that it's quite far from the center. You need your own wheels - or be prepared for a long walk.

HORRIBLE PLACE
Reviewed By dedecon21This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever been, if you even can call a hotel. It's dirty, old, old sheets, old towels, disorganized, you have to basically pay extra for anything you want. When I got to my room, there was a bar soap in the bathroom from previous guest. That shows the bathroom was never even cleaned. They said there was parking, but actually the parking is on the street, as the hotel is located in both sides of the road, with a church in between. Very weird!!!

Just horrible
Reviewed By Matt YWe had checked into a Pousada near by that was horrible, so visited Wetiga Hotel to see if it was worth checking in here instead. Like the pousada we had booked, the photos of this hotel were false advertising. This hotel is completely run down. The pool area is completely disheveled with chunks of concrete missing from the walls. The wooden decking is lifting up and needs replacing. The bedroom smelt like chlorine and the wardrobe was falling away from the wall. Remind me to Google if there has been an earth quake in Bonito recently, because it certainly looked like there had been one. We decided not to stay here (obviously) but decided to stay for a quick dinner at the restauarant because we were starving and there was nothing else within walking distance. OMG why did we do that?! We ordered grilled chicken with veggies. After waiting for nearly an hour, out came chicken which was actually ok, mashed potato with an entire root of ginger (why?!), and veggies that looked like they'd been put through a Mince grinder, but tasted like they'd been rescued from another guests plate a week ago. Honestly how can you stuff up veggies?! Just a horrible experience. Avoid avoid avoid.
