The 10 best Hostels hotel in Prague, Czech Republic

May 1, 2023 Venice Greaves

The word Prague means “uphill” and yes, the city Prague stands to its name. The amazing views from Prague Castle and the parks in Letná, Petřín and Vinohrady prove this. The hills surround a beautiful medieval center divided by a river in the picturesque Little Quarter and the cobblestone heart of Old Town in the Jewish Quarter. A stone’s throw from Old Town, you can find buzzing shopping in the cultural neighborhood of New Town. Everyone finds what they seek in Prague, and surely falls in love with this city.

Friendly Staff, Cool Neighborhood, Clean & Easy

Reviewed By wades374

This is a great place to stay in Prague. It's great for a budget but is still really nice, modern, and clean. The staff were always very friendly and helpful to me, and it has a nice little cafe at the bottom to sit in and do some work. The location is really great. The Vinohrady neighborhood is a really cool neighborhood in Prague. It's a close walk to Wenceslas and a lot of the historic sights, but the neighborhood itself has a ton of great restaurants, cafes, and pubs. The Czech Inn is a great launching off point to see the city, and a great place to return to at the end of the day. Highly recommend.

Nightmare

Reviewed By Daydream531120

One of the worst places I have ever stayed. I stayed with my friends in room 025. And it was a real nightmare. Dirty, BROWN SMEARED toilet, old rotting beds, stale bedclothes (!), no towels (for each towel you have to pay not only a deposit, but also a fee - 100 CZK for a towel). The pool is dirty, the water inside is very cold. There is no light in the sauna and sauna door is broken (does not close properly). Dirt, dirt, dirt everywhere. Very noisy ceiling fan in the room. Unpleasant and incompetent staff. Never again.

Totally recommend this hostel. Beautiful old building, literally right next to Charles bridge! Staff were extremely helpful and very kind- free hot drinks and water all day. The apartments we stayed in were both excellent ( stayed twice for 3 nights each time, one week apart) They were well equipped and clean. Very little noise and a lovely atmosphere . Great value for money. The building was very old (14 th century ?) so we totally understood why there was no lift ! The stairs were manageable even for this very unfit nearly fifty yr old however, if you do suffer with limited mobility you may find it difficult - I suspect the staff would go out of their way to help you in anyway they could- they were magnificent ! Would definitely stay there again with my family , many thanks to all the staff

Worst hostel ever, charge too much

Reviewed By V5264UQolivierv

We arrived, the computer system didn't work. After some long waiting time we could finally get checked in and helped. They charged the money from my credit card but this didn't went through the first minute. Then I had to pay with my card at the desk. I paid but suddenly my credit card is charged as well. I go back and show them everything (i can prove the money got taken from my account twice) and they would sort it out. We stayed for 4 days and after those days still no help. They promised me to get the money back in a few days. After 2 weeks i sent them en email and no response. Then I called them and they promised me (again) they would fix it. Now I'm 2 months later and 3 calls, 4 emails are unanswered. For me this is my worst experience ever with a hostel in my life. DON'T GO THERE, they will rip you off sadly enough!

Prison cell :(

Reviewed By NaomiFoxF

We arrived pretty exhausted and were received at the reception by suspicious and strict receptionists. The deposit that has to be left at the reception is unfair. Unfortunately, the pictures of the hostel did not match our sleeping "cell" of 4 bunk beds. There was no space for anything else than the beds and a trash bin in our room. You could not open the windows to let in a fresh breeze. It seemed like the management expects the worst of people, judging by the suspicousness and penalty warnings literally on every wall. It was however very clean and conveniently located, with spacious bathrooms and small self-help kitchen on every floor.

A comfy and pleasant stay

Reviewed By famverzosa

I was a solo traveler in my recent 25-day sojourn in Europe. In between two tours, I had a 3-day stay at Hostel Dakura, where location was of prime importance, as it was in the same district as the hotels where I transferred to join another tour. It was close to restaurants, groceries for last-minute shopping, and the train and bus stations. The room I had with a large bed was clean and spacious, as were the shared kitchen and toilets/showers which were conveniently located. Moreover, the staff were super-friendly, helping me with luggage, directions, and getting taxi service. On my last two days of tour, I stayed at this hostel again. The receptionist took the time to get me airport shuttle service. I definitely will recommend this place, not only for the price, but also for its excellent service, great location, and quiet ambience.
