Reviewed By 104benhThis is the place to stay in Riga. From the jump, the staff were warm and friendly. Matt and Gabe made sure Latvia was a great stop on my trip. They brought us around Riga and took us on excursions such as shooting at a gun range. Great atmosphere, can't recommend enough!

Tidy and bright
Reviewed By zanejuraThe place was tidy and clean, room very bright, which is a plus. Indeed, we could hear all the neighbors walking around outside of their rooms and up and down the stairs, but that did not ruin our night here. If the window is left open, you can also hear a lot of pigeons just outside the place, so if you need complete silence during the night, consider twice.

Great overnight experience
Reviewed By PolarBear777This review is for the overnight stay experience. We effectively received a private visit as there were no other guests. The experience includes a tour by a “guard” of the full prison, which was amazingly well done by Robert. The room is a cell with beds or putting a mattress onto a wooden board on the floor of a cell. There is a shared washroom with a sink and toilets, but no shower. No wifi. You were allowed in and out but it’s not easy to do as there are no keys provided - this isn’t a problem but just keep this in mind. Individual cells aren’t lockable either but you’re always in them anyways. The cost was 15 per person cash - regardless of the number of cells. Staff were very flexible about arrival time. Huge thanks to Kitija who was able to help us arrange a later arrival outside of the typical 12-5 check in times due to our original bus being cancelled. Check out is said to be 10 AM but they were flexible with storing luggage. Great one night experience - I’d highly recommend it.

Good place for good money
Reviewed By trespasser2We were travelling through Latvia as a group of 20+ people, and it was our second night stopover. The place is located very close to the beachfront, and not too far from the Saules park area. The amenities and facilities in the room (inclusive of kettle, fridge, etc.) were excellent. And the room itself was spacious, well-furnished and modern. (The only small thing is the double-bed, which was totally fine for me to share it with someone but may not work that way for other guests.) It was the kitchen that made our day, where all of us could congregate and do the cooking together. Equally important, there was enough place to park our transport. There is also a street cat overlooking the maintenance of the premises, making sure its residents are well entertained.

Reviewed By Jonas THade inga stora förhoppningar, men det visade sig vara rent och snyggt. I vårt rum fanns även en extrasäng. Gratis wifi och tv på rummet. Vi bokade rum med eget badrum men det finns även rum med gemensamt badrum. Något lyhört och ganska mycket ljud från gatan men det är ju också centralt...

I would recommend this place to anybody, I wish every hostel was like this, it was superb.

When arriving in Riga I was not finding the place at first try, but they called me and guided me (are you already in Riga? ...)! First day Magnus helped me explaing what I can do, etc. The following days Timo from Finland helped me. Then Christina organized a tour, so I also went to that tour. It is like beeing in a big family, with big living room. Breakfast goes until 12, all fresh prepared. Checkout is also until 12. I come back, next time with friends. By the way: they opened a second part last weekend, separate entry, quite for digital workers. They speak nearly all languages.

Reviewed By Kerahaw12Travelling alone can be a little daunting especially when looking for a friendly, relaxing place to have an evening drink but when I stumbled across this small but friendly bar/hostel I realised I had found the place for me! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming openly chatting with me and introducing me to locals and making me feel part of a group. After introducing me to black balsam cocktails and various other Latvian drinks at a reasonable price I left very happy and maybe a little wobbly on my feet but with plenty of memories. Thanks guys, I hope to visit again soon.

Reviewed By jo_kent1Where does the hostel bit come from???Lovely place most unexpected from the outside it looks quite small but it goes back a way. Very interesting characterful place, hard to describe as its so unusual, lots of candles.Lovely food the only odd bit was when I ordered veg as a side I got salad, but never mind!We had pork loin and lamb both very good.
