I went on this experience with four friends who were complete beginners and were a little nervous beforehand but the horses were very calm and relaxed so they quickly gained confidence. I have some experience riding and thoroughly enjoyed it as did my friends. The horses are really well cared for and had a huge paddock which is quite rare in Andalucia. The views in the countryside were beautiful. Highly recommend for both beginners and experienced riders, we will definitely be returning.

Finca La Alegria is a livery stables situated 1 KM inland from La Cala de Mijas. We are able to provide lessons, hacks, kids clubs and parent leads, all run and supervised by our BHS certified instructors. A family run bar serving a wide range of food is also available on site. For local residents we also have available various livery options.

I'm just back from a short break in Mijas and visited Finca La Alegria with my family for a horse riding experience. The horses were beautiful and although we were very inexperienced and not very agile the guide, Natalia, had so much patience with us. It was so nice to see the real Spanish countryside, going high up into the hills with spectacular views and the finca was an experience in itself with a small pony wandering around and even entering the bar. I would thoroughly recommend doing this if you are visiting the area. It was only a very short journey from La Cala de Mijas.

we had a wonderful two days riding on beautiful spanish horses who were foward going and eager to please the rider. Kalle matched us well to his horses and we would love to ride the horses on our next visit. The countryside is amazing, with lovely views down to the coast from some trails. There are also places for a gallop if you wish,but it was also nice just to walk and take in the views and see the wildlife. Kalle has lots of knowledge about the surrounding area and history of this part of spain, he also takes plenty of photo's will we cannot wait to see. All the horses are ridden in bitless bridles and western saddles which are very comfortable, Kalle's lovely dogs came out with us and there is also a friendly goat and chickens in the stable yard. We did the 2 hour ride, next time we will do one of the longer rides. Thank you Kalle and Carol.

We booked after finding on Internet ' so easy.... We don't have a car ' so we're picked up by the owners from nerja town and took out 10mins drive to the horses. ... Was a wonderful morning in the hills riding and onto the beach ' my first time on a horse and was so easy and enjoyable. .... 10 out of 10.. Magnet the guide a cool guy.. thanks

I really appreciated that Sandra planned time for us to do a brief lesson and warm up before heading out since we are not experienced riders. We enjoyed a relaxing ride though the olive, almond and oak fields and learned a bit about the agriculture and area of Ronda. It was incredibly beautiful!

What a fantastic 2 hours I spend riding out with Caroline in the foothills of the mountains near Estepona on her beautiful horses. Fast walk and trot brought us to a goat farm complete with visiting reindeer!! Fabulous and highly recommended. I’ll be back. Angela Crowley
