We took a tour with Pancho and Mario, who brought 8 of us from a cruise ship to see the sights of Acapulco in a comfortable air conditioned small bus. The guides’ passion for their hometown was obvious and endearing. They told stories about the places AND the people we saw, whom they waved to as we drove past. We visited 4 interesting sites, and Mario took pictures of the group that he later emailed to us. We had great seats on a shady balcony to watch the divers at Quebrada while enjoying a cold drink. Clearly, our guides were well known and very experienced in making visitors enjoy their city. After the formal tour, they suggested a great authentic restaurant for lunch, and got us back to the ship. Great fun, interesting color commentary and expert guides.

The positives - the tour guide was very educated and informative. The Chichen Itza ruins are definitely worth seeing at least once if given the opportunity. The negatives - there was a bit of pressure to purchase the Mayan calendar and other goods from the tour guide. The buffet food was surprisingly bland considering it was made by the native Mayan people. Also the tour was super long. I was picked up from my hotel in Playa del Carmen at 7am and didn’t get back until 9pm.

The Rio Lagartos Reserve is a natural place that is home to many types of flora and fauna, including birds, American flamingos and crocodiles, as well as being one of the most important natural reserves in Mexico. Within the reserve there are some pink lagoons in a dream, the color is caused by the reproduction of the Artemia Salina, this microorganism is responsible for feeding the American Flamingos that nest and reproduce in the reserve. This is a fantastic agency organizing amazing tours to see the luminescence and mangroves in an ecoway (canoe and swimming). The guides are great particularly Ivan that is very knowledgeable on the mangrove environment and will go out of his way to show you its treasure. Don't miss your opportunity to see the endangered and prehistoric Atlantic horseshoe crab (or at least its shells) that is threatened now by the disapearance of the mangroves due to touristic/urban development but mostly because they are used as bait for octopus fishing. So if you can do one small action to protect it, is to ban octopus from your menu while in Mexico. Carlos the manager will go all his way to accomodate your need and prepare your trip well in advance. You shouldn't miss it.

Thank you to AXG Travel for such an amazing experience!!! Our family and friends had the best day. We had a group of 30 that went on this excursion and for the price it was well worth it, food, drinks and music were included. The snorkeling was great with lots of beautiful fish. We stopped at the beautiful Isla mujeres were there was so much to do, some of us went shopping others went to the ruins on that island and others, like myself, laid back and went to the beach (playa Norte) and got a 30 minute massages for 30 bucks. Massages there go for $1 a minute which was fantastic. The crew was great and made us feel comfortable and safe. We will definitely do this one again!!
