We were there for a excursion on November 14/2019 booked thru Expedia. My other review states the problems we encountered on our once in a lifetime retirement trip...this day was completely ruined for us! Expedia is really not much help, they sponser this company thru their website (Expedia ended up losing ALOT of future bookings, we went with Viator, never a problem with them so far), but do not care that it is a less than savoury company! I guess no matter what time they show up, as long as they do... they feel they did their job! Dissappointing and a fraud! We have been trying to get a proper refund amount since this "excursion"... with no luck from either company!1 We feel it should be Expedia compensating us since they are the promoter!! Just say NO to this company!!!

What a trip! Adam, our driver, was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The day went according to plan and we had marvellous visits to both the extensive complex of Villa Adriana and then taken up the hill to Villa d’Este and its magnificent water gardens. Thoroughly recommend this out of Rome trip although pre-trip communication from the local provider could be improved.

We had a very enjoyable and informative all-day tour of Rome and Vatican City. Our guide, Nicola, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He arranged the schedule perfectly and gave us keen insights on each point of interest that we visited. Our driver, Claudio, expertly navigated the routes and was very friendly as well. We engaged Claudio to give us another half-day tour of Castel Gandolfo, which was superb. I strongly recommend Limousine Service in Italy for your travel needs.

Gilberto and Max of Discovery Tours provided the day trip of a lifetime to Anzio where I followed in my father's footsteps to see where he served his country in World War 2. Discovery Tours handled all the logistics, trip planning and detailed information on the battle sites and Anzio campaign with consummate professionalism. I learned much and thanks to Gilberto and Max, have a much deeper and personal understanding of the challenges my father and all other servicemen and women faced during this critical time in history. The most striking aspect of Tarquinia is undoubtedly the legacy left by the Etruscans. The Necropolis of Monterozzi (the highlight of your visit) dates back around 3000 years and has about 200 painted tombs.Visiting the Necropolis of Tarquinia (inserted onto the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004, ) is beyond doubt the best way to get to know the magnitude and at the same time the artistic refinement of the Etruscan people. Not less interesting, to learn about the Etruscans, is The Necropoli della Banditaccia, in Cerveteri which has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site together with the necropolis in Tarquinia. It covers an area of 400 hectares (990 acres), of which 10 hectares (25 acres) can be visited, encompassing a total of about 1,000 tombs often housed in characteristic mounds. It is the largest ancient necropolis in the Mediterranean area.

If you have been to Rome before & have seen all the sights, this should be your next ‘excursion’. We had a private driver take us to Tivoli where we met our private guide...a Roman history schoolteacher who was filling in for a friend. She was sooo knowledgeable! It was HOT, but there was water along the way. The history of Hadrian (Adrian to the Italians) was mind-boggling!! Amazing how they could build what they did in only 20 years! The second part of the tour was nearby & much more lush & beautiful (see pics). Lunch was on our own. Tour guide had a few recommendations. Loved the one we chose (see my review). I liked that we had time for a leisurely lunch nearby before we met our driver for the trip back to our hotel.

2 Years ago some friends of ours told us about this tour. We did not know much about the Etruscans or Tarquinia - what an experience! The guide picked us up at our hotel in Civitavecchia and we drove to the cute little town of Tarquinia - then out to where the Etruscans were buried in caves underground. There are about 20 different graves that you have to walk down many steps to be able to see - each one holds unique colorful murals. Then we ate a fabulous Italian lunch and then to the Etruscan museum to see all the artifacts that have been discovered. Our guide took us on a tour of the old city in Tarquinia and then back to the hotel late afternoon - very unique excursion that we highly recommend!
