This is a long overdue review. We went last year and Amir was very helpful. He picked us up and brought us to the hotel and gave us tips on where to go in Baku. The guide/driver he assigned to us, Vlad, was also great and knowledgeable about the places we went to. It was a long drive to Khinaliq, but in the end, it was worth it. We had lunch at one of the local's houses, very good food and authentic experience.

Firstly credit where it’s due - value for money on our tour of the Southern Caucuses was pretty good as it was half board. The downside of that was that we never got to choose any of our own food and, although there was a variety of dishes served, it’s not the same as having a free choice. Secondly, the tour started each morning right after breakfast, went on all day and finished by going straight to dinner in the evening. This meant no free time at all which isn’t good when you’re visiting foreign countries. Finally, all of our tour group wanted to visit a bazaar one day, rather than yet another church. However, we were told that we weren’t allowed to. We didn’t appreciate being treated like children since all the group were between late 30s and late 70s.

One the way to Gabala our first stop will be Shamakhi City which was the ancient capital of Shirvansah's reign. Juma mosque which is considered as the oldest mosque in Azerbaijan will be visited in Shamakhi. After reaching Gabala city guests will taste delicious lunch at the traditional restaurant. You can enjoy nature walking around Nohur Lake, or take boat or catamaran ride. Tufandagh Mountain Resort in most popular and touristic place in Gabala. Guests can get a cable car and go to the top of Tufandagh Mountain. Winter Season Resort became a skiing resort as well. 7 beauties waterfall will be our last stop in Gabala. We went to Azerbaijan on a 4 day group tour which covered in and around Baku. After the group tour, next 4 days myself and my friend explored the country side of Azerbaijan with the help of "Baku city Tour". Excellent remote walking tour of the old city of Tbilisi with Bacho via internet. The technology worked well and Bacho has perfect English. Bacho is a friendly and very well informed guide. It was wonderful to get a taste of this beautiful and interesting looking city in the only way possible in current circumstances. Georgia is now very high on my list of countries to visit when circumstances allow and I will not hesitate to contact Bacho and Georgian holidays to help plan my trip. Highly recommended. Sheki is a small and beautiful town of Azerbaijan. It is surrounded with green nature and mountains. Sheki is well known also with its cuisine, sweeties and humour stories. You will love to talk with Sheki citizens. Shaki is surrounded by snowy peaks of the Greater Caucasus, which in some places reaches 3000–3600 m. Shaki's climate includes a range of cyclones and anticyclones, air masses and local winds. The average annual temperature in Shaki is 12 °C. In June and August, average temperature varies between 20 and 25 °C. The mountain forests around the area prevent the city from floods and overheating of the area during summer. The main rivers of the city are the Kish and Gurjhana. During the Soviet rule of Azerbaijan, many ascended to Shaki to bathe in its prestigious mineral springs.

We had an 8 day customised tour organised by Azerbaijanguide.az. From the first email reply I received everything was handled very well in a professional manner. Itinerary was designed according to what we wanted to see and do and we had a brilliant time. Our driver and guide, Farhad, was with us all week and was very accomodating. Artunj made sure our tour went without a hitch and was on hand via phone or WhatsApp whenever we needed to contact him. All in all we had an amazing time exploring (being shown) Azerbaijan and would highly recommend Artunj and his company if you decide to visit this interesting country.

We took the Gabala, Sheki private tour (3days/2nights) last weekend and we really enjoyed the scenic countryside of Azerbaijan.
