We had an amazing walking (with one taxi) food tour with Diego! My husband and I love exploring the local food culture and he took us to some great local markets we never would have been able to navigate on our own. We tried tacos, meats, fruits and other treats. At the places he picked he knew the owners. Diego even brought his own plates and silverware for us. He is really knowledgeable about the history of the food culture of San Miguel De Allende. He also went with us to the local craft market. All in all a great day!

Guanajuato is an amazing city located in the mountains, where people built their colorful houses. Starting as a mining town in the 16th century, you will be impressed by its colorful houses, the streets that run underneath the city and the mountains, the museums and historical buildings. This is a 9 hours tour starting from San Miguel de Allende or Queretaro, where we'll visit Teatro Juarez, University of Guanajuato, Hidalgo market, the kissing alley. As an option we can see Diego Rivera House museum, or Mummy museum, and you can choose between the tourist mine or the Ex Hacienda de San Gabriel Barrera. This is an unique city in Mexico with a strong architectural European influence.

Exclusions: Food and drinks, Lunch

Did two tours with Aaron in Queretaro, the city walking tour and the wine and cheese tours. His english is excellent and his knowledge of the region and its history wonderful. He regaled us with stories of the history of the region, but was also a wealth of knowledge of the businesses and economic engines of the region. He drove us for the wine tour in his newish Nissan. He is a careful solid driver and we felt comfortable the whole day. We especially enjoyed the town of Bernal and the Freixenet winery. We felt very well cared for the entire time with Aaron. Would strongly recommend him and his tours and plan to come back one day to further explore the region.

In this city we’re going to visit the Diego Rivera’s museum, the Juarez Theater, the kissing alley with its legend, and many more sites. Don’t miss this journey across one of the most magical cities in Mexico. The cost of this tour per person is USD$ 60 and requires at least 3 passengers.

We were disappointed in this tour, inasmuch as many of the places that were on the itinerary -- two museums and the national theater -- were closed. And they've been closed for a long time due to Covid. Our tour guide said, "we'll need to cut the tour short"...we suggested we visit a winery on the way back, but this came from us not him. The guide himself was knowledgeable about the history of the location, which is why this isn't a 2-star, but the owner, Jesus, should either have not booked us on the tour at all or at least informed us that after a one-hour+ drive many of the destinations would be unavailable.

Guanajuato is a colonial gem sitting in a valley northwest of Mexico City. The city has been named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The architecture of this gorgeous city was built using the great wealth generated from the silver mines during the 17th and 18th centuries; during this period, Guanajuato was the source for 1/3 of the world’s silver. You will also discover the labyrinth of tunnels beneath the city as well as the Haciendas and Mines outside of the City Center. . Today, you can see Guanajuato in its preserved beauty. Coming here is like stepping back in time; the city is remarkable and offers visitors an authentic colonial experience amidst one of the most picturesque colonial backdrops to be found anywhere in Mexico.

The reviews on Trip Advisor regarding this tour are excellent and as a result we booked the tour in Guanajuato. Due to the coronavirus and the Australian government forbidding travel we could not get to Mexico and had to cancel the tour. I am writing this review to highlight the professionalism displayed by this company throughout the whole process of booking the tour to us having to cancel. They were extremely helpful and co-operative at all times. I have no hesitation in recommending them and, when this over, we hope to get to Mexico and will use Estigo at every opportunity.

Although I was extremely disappointed that my initial TripAdvisor tour was cancelled with late notice, Carolina (an amazing front desk associate at the Hotel Indigo) quickly connected me with tour leader, Susana, knowing that I was looking for more physical activity. Don't get me wrong, Guanajuato is gorgeous; however, if you only see Zona Centro, then you are missing out on a lot of additional beauty this area has to offer. Susana is clearly in great physical condition from hiking so it was good that I had someone to lead a quick pace ! More importantly, Susana shared with me additional history of the area and I was able to practice my Spanish. (Susana was so patient with me because I really need conversation outside of an app like Duolingo). I will note here that Susana also took me on a hike to Cerro de La Bufa, which was a bit more vigorous -- and very exhilarating! I learned about some of the special feast days in the area as well that involve some of the hiking sites "La Cruz" (cross) and "La Cueva" (cave). I will run out of space here soon, but getting out into the rural areas allowed us to connect with local people going about their daily lives. My favorite experience was meeting a young girl with a cage of bunnies and finding out some of the "back story" on her family's life there. Had it not been for Susana, these types of experiences wouldn't have happened. If you are a bit more independent, I encourage you to contact Susana and have her customize hikes for you as she did for me. Such great memories !!

We ended up hiring him to drive us from San Miguel to Guanajuato, doing some sightseeing on the way. He was very attentive, on time and communicated very well about all the details of the trip. Would highly recommend his services if you’re planning to visit this area.
