I booked this trip via their website and asked for the day trip to the Ostrog Monastery on 15th September. As this was a day out I thought the price very reasonable, considering the current situation, so we had the guide to ourselves! Igor collected us at our apartment and brought us back to the apartment afterwards. Igor is most pleasant, funny and extremely knowledgeable, regarding the history of Montenegro. It is obvious that he is passionate about history and he told us all the stories and legends of all the places that we passed along the way. When we mentioned where we had been and where we were going, he volunteered additional information regarding things to look out for, which he didn't need to do. The monastery itself is magnificent and a lot of the traditions were explained to us and we spent most of our time at the upper monastery, which was built into the rockface! On our way back to Kotor we stopped at a traditional restaurant, where we had knuckle (knee) of beef and lamb cooked the traditional way. This was accompanied by a traditional salad and washed down with homemade wine, which was delicious. Just by the way, lunch is not included in the tour and we were taken there because our conversation about where we had been turned to food and Igor asked if we would like to stop for a late lunch. If you love history and local traditions then this trip is for you!

This tour combines some of the lesser known countries in the Balkans; Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro, by trying to show the best each of these countries offers. Albania offers a mixture of cultural elements with 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a rich archaeological legacy. Macedonia offers some of the most excellent religious relics, with Ohrid having the biggest Icon museum in the region as well as many beautiful churches. This theme is carried over into Kosovo the newest state in Europe, where we combine religious monuments with tasting of wine and local foods. The Tour will end up in Montenegro which has made a name for itself based on its wild natural beauty.

I can't thank our tour guide Adam enough for giving us a fun filled day from start to finish. If you are lucky enough to get him as your tour guide you will agree with me that he is one interesting man on this planet! He went above and beyond, even making additional pit stops. He showed us so much in one day that would of easily taken us two to three days to do. The tour exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to do future day trips in other countries/cities with Albanian Express Travel and Adam!

The tour is private so it is very flexible and relaxing and the tourists may agree with the driver about stopping more times or taking more time on some spots and less on others. We are trying to create a friendly environment for guests to enjoy, see as much as possible but at the same time to avoid getting tired while visiting more places of interest during just one day. The drives between the spots are about 30-minute long, and enough time for sightseeing and exploring of the sites is ensured. Giving high importance to your comfort, we have chosen to operate the tour in Mercedes Benz V250 that offers 2 independently operated AC systems, leather seats, and special darkened windows that protect from the sun while allowing excellent visibility. WiFi is available in the car as well. Our chauffeur is an experienced driver who speaks English. For two and three person tours, we provide an Audi Q 3 with the same conditions as V250. Our vehicles are cleaned and disinfected after every tour.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, WiFi on board, Bottled water, Private transportation, All mentioned attractions

Exclusions: Traditional ham and cheese, Montenegrin wine and beer

My heart is full of the gratitude for the amazing experience! Pava and Slavko did their best to provide me with the perfectly customized tour. Despite COVID-related restrictions and public holidays (I travelled to Montenegro in this early January) I visited a lot of interesting towns, museums and art galleries. When some place turned out to be closed because of the new restrictions Pava and Slavko would promptly found some other interesting nearby attraction. The culmination came while visiting the Lady of the Rock church. Especially for me Slavko managed to call the only employee and he kindly interrupt his Christmas holiday to provide us with the boat and sail to the island. He opened doors and I couldn't believe my eyes seeing all this rich and beautiful interior. No shortcomings, no regrets, no fail: again, my experiences were only positive.

This was a great tour, and our guide, Darko, was exceptionally knowledgeable. We would strongly recommend this tour. Our only issues were that we needed more bathroom breaks, and those in the backseat had considerable trouble hearing the guide while he was driving. Regardless, we would recommend this to all Montenegro travelers. Wear/take layers - can be chilly!
