We have come across this winery just by chance - we were in the vicinity on business and used a short break to look for a good prosecco nearby. We were impressed by friendliness of the owner Massimo, who speaks excellent English, and by the quality of his wines (especially the extra brut is wonderful, with nice minerality, good structure and very delicate bubbles)

Very friendly and knowledgeable, Pietro took time (about 20 minutes) to explain his Prosecco when we showed up unannounced. Excellent Prosecco in the middle of the Cartizze region that competes very strongly with the multitude of other producers in the region. I've been visiting the area for over 30 years so I already have my favorites among the many I have tasted over the years. Pietro certainly knows what he is doing and I plan on many return visits. Driving up a long dirt road nestled between the grape vines sets a unique atmosphere that made for a better experience.

Visit this beautiful church designed by Palladio, the adjoining monastery (owned by the Cini Foundation*). Take the elevator to the top off the church bellower to see Venice, the island grounds and Giudecca from a wonderful distance. The Cini foundations offers regular tours of the former monastery buildings and grounds. You cannot just visit on your own. The tours seem to be about every hour but check ahead to coordinate this visit with the church and belltower visit. You can easily take Vaporetto 2 from several different points including from St. Mark's pier. The grounds include an incredible maze of boxwood created in 2012. Of special note to art lovers: 1. the refrectory of this monastery was the original home of Veronase's Wedding Feast of Cana in the Louvre. It was taken by Napoleon in the early 1800s and never returned. The Cini Foundation has replaced the original with a beautiful digital copy to give a sense of where this huge artwork belongs . . . 2. One of Tintoretto's last paintings, an innovative Last Supper, is located to the right of the main alter. Created for THIS space, the painting is orientated to be seen from the side. Read about both paintings before you go.

Made the Red circular with a nine years old and 3.5 years old girls, they really enjoyed it. It’s not an easy trail: be prepared to walk down from the parking about. 15 min, than you enter and you start by descending a lot. But the view worth it, most of it is in shedding area, and the waterfalls makes it cooler. Two main attractions: one is the swing in waterfall n. 17 in the map and one with omega with was inoperable (June 4). One of the best trails we had with kids. Definitely worthy for half day trip if you are in east Garda lake or near Verona.

We had been told about Pellestrina by other photographers, spent a lovely day here, it was so quiet and peaceful like traveling back in time. Delightful. Having said all of this I am sure it would not suit everyone. Depends what you want, it is really a place of local fishermen. Bikes seemed a good way to get around although the bus service is good from Lido.
