It is the county seat of Will County and a major part of the southwest Chicago metropolitan area. At the 2010 census, the city was the fourth largest in Illinois, with a population of 147,433. A population estimate in 2016 put Joliet's population at 149,395, which would make it the 3rd largest city in Illinois if accurate.

Thanks Harrah's for making us feel like high rollers by giving us the nicest hotel room we've been comped yet. Suite with powder room, dining spot overlooking the river, pullout couch living room with wet bar, king bed, chaise lounge and that master bath! The room was great for hosting our friends before hitting the casino floor & going to a show at Rialto and back for more gambling. Staff was friendly, house keeping was great, etc.

Awesome time for my kids. We did the Sunday funday special on their website. $60 for 4 people to jump for an hour plus a large pizza & pitcher of water. Everything was really clean including the bathroom (which is rare at kids places). The manager and desk staff were very nice & friendly. When our pizza was taking a little longer than expected, he offered my whole family complimentary icees. This was a blast!!
