Penticton Farmers' Market

At the Penticton Farmers' Market you can find farm fresh veggies and fruits, eggs, honey, baking, preserves and handmade crafts - all grown or produced in the South Okanagan. PFM vendors proudly make, bake or grow everything they sell. The market also hosts a selection of local liquor vendors each week.

This Saturday morning market is a "must" when visiting Penticton or the surrounding area. It gets VERY crowded so I would recommend going as early as you can. You can find free parking closely. The market is made up of a "farm and artisan" side and a sort of "retail" side with a few artisan foods mixed in. It is an amazing showcase of what the farms and businesses in the area have to offer and so much of it is great. From wickedly delicious breads, beautiful fruits and vegetables, and beautiful baked items, your basket will be filled within minutes. It would be a true shame to be in this area and not take in this market.

An absolute MUST go for Book Lovers of all ages. Easily spent over an hour in here and would’ve spent many more had it not been for impatient kids. Loved all the unique and quirky corners and surprise finds. Left will nearly a dozen books (only because I couldn’t carry anymore)... I’ll be back.

Upper Bench Estate Winery & Creamery

Situated in Penticton, at the gateway to the picturesque Naramata Bench, Upper Bench offers a unique experience to locals and visitors by offering pairings of their two passions: artisan wine and hand-crafted cheese. Winemaker Gavin Miller believes great wine is made in the vineyard and farms sustainably, with out the use of chemicals or pesticides. Upper Bench produces big bold reds and crisp dry whites. All of Upper Bench's wines come from the mature vines on Upper Bench's unique seven-acre vineyard and a select few other vineyards along the Naramata Bench. Cheesemaker Shana Miller continues to create her unique and highly sought-after hand crafted artisan cheeses in her on site, state of the art creamery. She now offers five delectable cheeses: U&Brie, Belle Marie, Okanagan Sun, Grey Baby and a stilton style blue named King Cole. Enjoy a bottle of wine on our sunny patio where our restaurant, The Oven, serves up authentic, Napoletana-style pizza. (Please note patio is 19+ only).

What a find that was, we overheard someone talking about this place and we sought it out. How pleasant it was, small but full of surprises. We must have spent a good 30 to 40 minutes chatting with very pleasant and informative lady. Their homemade cheeses are delicious to say the least, the Blue Cheese was out absolute favourite. This winery is also making a very rare red wine called „Zweigelt“ having lived in Austria, just looking at the label made me nostalgic. And wine does not disappoint, it’s quite powerful, on the dry side ohhhhh but soooo tasty. Buy not one but more! Für deutsch sprechende Besucher, auf jeden Fall den Zweigelt probieren, habe ihn sonst in Kanada nie gefunden. Besser noch, ein paar Flaschen mitnehmen.
