I bought this stunning set of earrings and pendant for my mother’s birthday. It was love at first sight. I went inside the glass master’s workshop which is located right next to the store. The glass master explained me about the production process of his jewelry, how each item is carefully made by hand making each piece unique. My mom loved her present! If you are looking for quality, unique designs and affordable prices, this is the place to go in Murano, I totally recommend it.

Wandered down a little alley after one of those big factory tours and found this amazing shop! I had always been hesitant to go to Murano because of all the buyer beware stories but we were with our kids this time and they wanted to see Murano. I am so glad we did! Jany, the shop owner's wife was gracious and helpful. She is not only an educator and advocate teaching about REAL Murano glass but she also designs Murano glass jewelry along with her sister and mother. They each specialize in different styles of jewelry and her husband creates the beautiful, sculptural larger pieces. I cannot say enough about Jany. She spent so much time with me, helping me pick out a special pair of earrings. She changed the components and let me try each of them on so I could pick out what is really a one-of-a-kind, custom pair of earrings that will always remind me of my first trip to Murano. I highly recommend a visit here!

We spent the best part of a day searching for a bowl to put on our dining table and found just what we wanted right here. We had seen very similar ones (well pretty much identical really) at other shops on Murano but they were way out of our price range and we were about to give up. Then we dropped in to Vetreria Cenedese & Gasparini. They had many lovely pieces which they went to great effort to present to us but we just couldn't find anything that took our fancy. So with much more running around, offering suggestions, showing us different ideas and patiently giving us their time we came up with just what we wanted. The bowl had to be made for us and sent to Australia, and it was for less than half of what the the other shops were asking. It now sits on our dining table and looks absolutely lovely, we couldn't be happier. Thanks Alessia for all of your help and patience and if we ever make it back to Venice we'll be sure to visit again.

The architecture of this beautiful church is Romanesque, the exterior of the apse is lavishly decorated with multicolored bricks. But it is the inside that holds the real surprise - unique and well preserved mosaics, covering the whole floor. According to the explanations on the information panels, different parts of it carry different symbolic messages. the southern (right) aisle is the Baptism Way, the central nave is the Way of Salvation, while the northern (left) aisle is the Way of the Church. The mosaics are really beautiful! The church is dedicated to Saint Donatus, who - according to a local tradition - slayed a dragon. The entry was free and taking pictures was allowed.

I've visited this contemporary glass jewelry gallery several times and have walked away with treasures. The building is very contemporary in design and the jewelry made is second to none. Every time I wear a piece, people stop to ask where did I buy it. The jewelry ranges from small glass bead necklaces in a variety of colors, to glass globes that slide onto a woven mesh stainless steel cable. The glass globes are interchangeable so buy several! The sisters also make other unique necklaces as well as bracelets and silk scarves. This gallery is a must-see stop on the island of Murano!
