The Outlaws Bar-Mogan

We have cool, elegant surroundings, a sunny terrace, all sports on large screens and a varied drinks list. We also have music every night, with something to suit everyone, not simply country. We look forward to seeing you soon.

My wife and I popped in a couple of times on our week's holiday. I wanted to watch the two Liverpool games that were on in that week and fortunately I looked up on our way back to our hotel and spotted Outlaws bar. I'm glad I did. Martin was a very attentive and friendly host. He also does some singing in the evenings and he's got a really nice voice. The beer was very reasonably priced and we were made to feel very welcome. Would like to pop in again if and when we come back to Gran Canaria. Also, all the best to Luton Town - I hope you stay up.

One of the best beaches on the island, it was developed with sand imported from the caribbean as part of the Anfi del Mar resort. It is a great place to spend time - made even better with less-crowded, socially distanced sunbeds when we visited.

Los Azulejos de Veneguera

What a wonderful day out in the mountains, driving around the winding roads, going higher and higher. The colours on the rocks are spectacular, having being left by the minerals deposited so so long ago........a most interesting display. The weather was fine when we set off and were able to stop for photos, but later, the mist came down over the mountain tops, making a wonderful and dramatic picture. Noticed water running down the gulleys and a few isolated houses.....would need to be self sufficient to live here ! Stopped at Las Canados for lunch, which is a very typical and authentic restaurant, and obviously popular with the locals on a Sunday. So tasted lots of typical dishes including pork which was cooked on their open fire, cocidos ( stew of potatoes, chickpeas, chorizo ) all very tasty, finished off with lovely desserts and apple liqueur. A very interesting place as it has a little museum, full of old typewriters, sewing machines, telephones and everything you can think of, as well as a bedroom set out from years ago ! Plus an outside cage of salamanders, which I at first thought was a stone one as it never moved , and a pond of turtles........an amazing place !! Well recommended visit to Veneguera........breathtaking views, and those beautiful colours too.

We decided to drive around the island looking for remote and un-touristy spots and found this gorgeous little place. It was a Sunday so plenty of local families about which added to the ambience. Usual pebble beach for northern Gran Canaria but we were just looking for an idyllic spot for lunch and we found it.
