We commissioned Walter to paint a depiction of Hopkins Inn. We gave Walter some ideas of what we wanted included and let his creativity fill in the blanks. Walter visited Hopkins Inn to experience the place and people, developed a sketch on the canvas, and then produced a detailed piece of art he titled “Nice Vibes.” We love it!

Belize Raptor Center

Reviewed By LRazzon - Istanbul, Turkey

We had a few hours before dark after visiting ATM, and we decided to give it a go. Boy am I glad. You get to see raptors from up close, you get to meet people, volunteers, and when all is said and done, you leave in a "feel-good" mood. Entrance is free, you'd need a car to get there, any donation is appreciated as they are a non-profit and donations go for the food and well being of the raptors. This is one place I would not hesitate to visit again in San Ignacio.

Rio On Pools

Reviewed By AndreaN00 - Vancouver, Canada

This is the perfect spot to stop after the long drive to Caracol! Easy to get to, as it is right off the main road and only a short easy walk from where you park down to the river. Wonderful spot to have a picnic, dip in the pools, relax under little waterfalls and just refresh on a hot day. There is some shade, too. Be careful, though, the rocks in the water are VERY slippery! I recommend wearing water shoes.

Big Rock Falls

Reviewed By tmcdee - Toronto, Canada

We ventured twice to Big Rock from Blancaneaux Lodge, first by hike, then by mountain bike. Steep hill down to the falls, rocks slippery as an FYI. Loved it so much we had to go back the next day. We were amazed at how much it resembled Canada. ????????????Gaia Lodge close by for good food and drink and spectacular views.

Belize Soul Project

Enjoyed the evening at soul project with my wife and friends. Downstairs bar services local beer and the owner served up his very own homemade wine. The venue itself is clean and adorned by art on every wall and corner. A local duo sang cover songs but not too cheesy one's.

This store might be an arts and crafts store for the locals but is an excellent place for tourists to pick up souvenirs. They have everything from t-shirts and hats to collectible patches, spoons, and stickers, not to mention some of the best wood carvings around. There’s also a great coffee shop within that serves a wide variety of coffee and snacks. The Art Box is also a great pit stop between the airport and the resorts in the rainforest and beach. Clean bathrooms and a great excuse to stretch your legs. You won't leave empty-handed, I guarantee.

Rio Frio Cave

This cave is located in a beautiful part of Belize and features Mayan relics and a 65-foot tall opening.

Reviewed By AndreaN00 - Vancouver, Canada

The road to the cave is another very bumpy and narrow one, but the drive is not very long and the cave only a few meters from where you park. This is an easily accessible, big cave and as you walk inside, you can even see the other end of it. Pretty spectacular and makes for very nice pictures! Excellent stop on the way back from Caracol or a day in Pine Ridge Forest.

San Ignacio Market

Reviewed By CONatureGirl

We were on a group trip and stopped here for the big Saturday market - you have to experience this!!! The piles and rows of fruits and vegetables and spices were just mind-blowing!! Add the other booths with vendors selling all kinds of art, clothing, etc. and it is like a large flea market. Food and ice cream available, and if you want snacks for your trip through Belize, you must stop here. We got some cool art, snacks for the road, and just had a great time browsing all the local produce!
